Biskupin

Today before my next trip to the mountains I wanted to show you the most interesting and one of most important places in Polish / European history - Biskupin. Village located in the central Poland. Here are few interesting facts about this place but I honestly encourage you so much to read more about it:

 1) The archaeological reserve covers an area of approx. 38 hectares and is one of the largest in Europe. There are numerous traces of settlement here, dating from the Stone Age to the early Middle Ages.

 2) The archaeological reserve covers an area of approx. 38 hectares and is one of the largest in Europe. There are numerous traces of settlement here, dating from the Stone Age to the early Middle Ages.

 3) Currently, in the archaeological reserve, there are reconstructions of the settlement of the first farmers, a defensive settlement on a peninsula (picture 1-6), box graves, a Piast village (picture 8,9), a visualization of a hunter-gatherer camp, as well as the Puck Cottage, which is an ethnographic object entered in the register of monuments.

 4) The camp of hunters and gatherers loosely refers to the traces of a camp from 10,000 years ago, which was discovered on a dune near Lake Biskupiński. They consist of huts covered with reeds and an external fireplace. (picture 10)

 5) Also remember my earlier post titled "When the Sun was God" where I talked about one of my favourite movies? Well it was filmed in this exact place and I didn't even knew that! :D

Hope you'll liked this post and found this place as interesting as I did. See you again on Wednesday when I'll be back home and hopefully I can bring some great news with me but right now don't want to jinx it!

Love, Erinthul.

To be honest at first I didn't know how old it actually was. It was incredible! I am not sure how to even describe it because I am not good with words. I was there for two days and the first day I went there it was already evening and then the storm came really quickly. Walking around this place in strong wind felt really powerful :)

That is stunning. It looks ancient. I love stuff like that. What did the energy or vibe feel like?
