Wandering in the snow

Second day of my trip was supposed to be slow and easy too. Unfortunately (or fortunately tbh) the fate had other plans.

We started our day by visiting the nearest mountain (over 1000 meters above sea level). At this point it was constantly snowing there for over a week. That's why the landscape was just breathtaking. The wind was really strong that day too but that didn't stop me from doing some photoshoots. I even decided to get undressed but it was extremely hard to pose in that conditions. As you can see some photos are out of focus because I was shaking like hell :D. I am glad I managed to take those four photos tho. I am really proud of what my body can bear nowadays because I used to be a little chinken if the temeratures got lower than 5 degrees C.

But back to the story...

On the top of the mountain was a little house where you could get warm and eat something while being sheltered from the freezing wind. Next to this house was standing something that looked like a castle tower. The ice on this tower made this place look really scary tbh :D. I was visiting the same place in the summer and I remebered that behind this tower was a really nice path that was leading to the village in the valley. The one thing I dind't foresee was that the snow could make even the nicest path really scary.

So we went that way XD At first we saw some footprints and that made us fell like we can do it, even if the snow was to our knees (and sometimes to my waist). But then another snowstorm came and in seconds covered every footstep. The sun was almost setting and we were really tired in the middle of nowhere. As we were walking for few hours we saw a family with two little kids in front of us. We exchanged some information and had a quick laugh. The path from now on was a lot easier for us and for them because we were following their footsteps and they ours.

After two hours of crazy snowstorm the weather started clearing and for the first time we saw the sun. Sunrays of the setting sun were peaking through the branches and leaving golden shine on the snow.

This was a really magical day and I am happy I could walk all this way in the most extreme conditions I have ever expierienced. I couldn't take pictures there because I was affraid of breaking my camera but the last photo is the beginning of that lovely path :D

Love, Erinthul
