I think that might be insanely important for MC as a character. Somehow whenever a super important decision is made MC is the one making the choices. No wonder Nerissa was distant after MC sided with Alisa. I'd even say she can see MC as a threat at some point so asking MC to put on a good word to the rebels for her is very critical.
