Just a quick anecdote🍀

I would like to tell you a funny memeory about how I realized that one of the methods I shared with you could actuallly help🤭

When I was a child, in an art class that I don't even remember (I only have this memory), one day the teacher approached me. I remember drawing from a photograph, I think it was a fruit still life. The teacher was going through all the desks in front of us, that meaning the drawings were facing upside down for him.

I was so into that drawing. I thought I was doing great, as I've always been the "artsy" girl that was drawing nonstop. The teacher came to me and said: You need to fix this, this, this and that. I remember looking at the drawing like "wait, I don't see any of those mistakes" but I knew I had to trust his adult vision. That made me think, how could it be possible? Him seeing the mistakes having the drawing upside down? And I, having it in front of me, can't see them.

Then, in that moment, trying to understand what the teacher saw that I was not able to see, I turned the drawing upside down. I stopped for a few seconds, as I was clearly seeing the shapes of those fruits wrong in some places. I was now seeing the mistakes! I thought to myself "wow, looking at something from another perspective can be really helpful".

Since then, when I drew without knowing what I was doing (I had no idea about proportions or anatomy as a child and adolescent) I always resorted to that method to see what it was that I was not able to see, because I was so into the drawing.

I save this memory with so much love now🥰 We can learn so much from the little things.

Thanks for reading this quick story!✨
