Uhm. Are we even reading the same comic? Why she decided to go against Than and why does she have Cowloon support is pretty clear, there are no ambiguity. It all was explained in previous chapter (pages 123-125).
She could do what Feds are asking her, take over the Patagon and dismantle it.
Or she could carefully misinterpret the words and go with her own agenda… after all the exact words were: “We believe that keystone of Patagon's existence is its current president. Without her we project the bulk of the concern would naturally splinter.”
If she'll successfully kick the Than out but Patagon will refuse to die… who could blame her? She did what she was asked to do: nobody asked her to kick out the Annabel, for example, nobody asked her to send Than to jail, etc. She just needs to become a new president and essentially do nothing… at least her work is to “do nothing” publicly.
Yes, this is dangerous play but with Rhea's coaching there's hope… except as you've correctly noted: it does not look like Alexis have grown beyond the fitness coach… well, she have grown physically beyond that role, sure, she needs her figurehead to even visit her own establishment, but I'm talking about different kind of growth. To pull out this kind of play you need not just good poker face, you need a certain kind of mindset… and, frankly, I don't see Alexis as suitable candidate for such plays…
But hey, stranger things happened! When mere colonel was put in charge of certain troubled country 16 years ago everyone was sure that he'll be just a marionette in hands of gray cardinals like Berezovsky or Yumashev… yet somehow all these “cardinals-wannabe” ended up in exile and said colonel is still in charge… I'm not saying that Alexis will be able to do the same, though: it's hard.

Her own agenda? She was fitness coach, even worked as fitness coach again at Cowloon. I wonder what her agenda is or what made her leave cowloon to have revenge again. Maybe cowloon is involved giving her major support and just want some sort of marionette as patagons boss.

God, is Miriam ever not the best?
Also, calling it now - Half of Miriam's eccentricities are just her stubbornly sticking to jargon used at whatever her super secret old job was. "Backgammon" for instance, was clearly code speak for "climactic battle between Us and Them".

See, this is what happens when I'm away from my computer for a few days - Someone else beats me to claiming LBSC's fever dream was prophetic. Well played, Geistieg. Well played.

I'm not surprised you don't know about Larry or Eric—even if I'm 100% sure you know about their adversaries: Larry Ellison is perpetually jealous rival of Bill Gates and is really cold and bitter guy (because, you know, Oracle is almost as big as Microsoft yet everyone knows Bill Gates but nobody knows Larry Ellison!) and Eric Schmidt (Google's executive chairman) is, of course, the guy who had the galls to go againts very-well known Larry's friend (Stive Jobs) wishes. Eric is always soft-spoken and polite, I've never seen him visibly angry or arrogant, he's always ready to take in account your feelings—yet somehow not even Steve was able to make him back down. This takes guts.
As I've said: you don't need to be “cold”, but yes, you must be “firm”. And I don't really think Alexis want to dismantle Patagon in the end: this is what Feds want, not what Alexis want! If she's clever she'll take over the Patagon and use it to move her own agenda—but as I've said her track record is not particularly impressive in the area of “being clever”…

Never heard of that people, being wise helps but alone doesn't lead to success. At the end you need to be stone cold. If Alexis wants to dismantle Patagon, I don't think she would have any support by anybody. Patagon being a major employer .. big business. Lots of jobs would be lost and no deal with Cowloon

Miriam has "personified" C.A.P.I. not simply as a tool, but as a living companion, and "assigned a gender" to him.People do this all the time;sometimes A.I.s and other computers are viewed as "him" or "her".

What I find funny is that almost everyone perceives C.A.P.I. as “cute” and “adorable” even if he has no face and is clearly not “plush and cuddly” (hard plastic, most likely). Go figure.
P.S. Also: C.A.P.I. is apparently “he”, not “it”… what does THAT mean? I have no idea…

I don't think that “Being Boss needs a polarizing character”, sorry. “Being wise and pertinacious when needed” and “being nasty” are not the same.
Yes, some good bosses are an assholes (think Larry Ellison) but you could be pretty mild-mannered and amicable yet still firmly lead your company ahead (think Eric Schmidt).
The problem here is not that Alexis couldn't be nasty and “bossy” (she could: think pages 84-87 from chapter 4), the real question: could she be wise?… Her tracks records are not great in that department…

All of Alexis friends friends seem to really enjoy Patagon and seem to have settled. Sure I like Than more myself. Even she is rude and all, she sure is the boss of Patagon. Being Boss needs a polarizing character, you can't be all friendly or driven just by your feelings.

Her task is to dismantle the Patagon, apparently.
But given her incompetence at being the CEO she, most likely, will fail to do even that. Which is probably the good thing in that particular case.

Frankly they both deserve to lose. Than by-hook-or-by-crook-but-I-always-win Dall need an attitude adjustment. Alexis I-would-never-learn Prois needs another lesson (or maybe dozen of them). I've said many time Alexis' win here will open lots of paths, Than's will will just lead story into the dead end, but Eamonn McGrail brought another possibility: some kind fof development where both sides will be able to claim a victory. Alexis win-on-technicality (then Than would formally be displaced, but without heartfelt support from MoarCraft guy) would be the best outcome. The development where Than would be forced to display “we are the bestests of friends” face on public yet still will plan revenge behind the curtains would be the most amusing and opens up the most roads for the future story development…
As for eastetics… I agree that fully-deflated That would look kind-of-creepy, but I don't think that'll be the problem if Alexis would only be able to steal some saline, but not all of it. 90% or even 50% would be enough for clear win—and Than would be able to reexperience the feeling of growth she loves so much, LOL…

I've been wondering if the whole dream from LBSC will come to fruition. Even if Alexis somehow stole away Than's heft , unless we're going totally magical or something deflated Than would likely look kind of creepy, what with some kind of rapid deflation and all that excess skin with nothing to do. I'd prefer Than win this whole thing, just cause I don't find Alexis too interesting a character while Than has some attitude to her. Unless this whole thing spurs on some elaborate Than revenge plot, that might be fun to see.

Well, said prophecy couldn't happen literally: in LBSC Than lost everything but here significant (although unknown) part of boobs is not filler, but meat and fat. Even if just 1% of original mass will remain Than will have 300″ boobs which is still pretty impressive rack (and 10%, of course, would be as big as Alexis boobs at the beginning of that chapter).

Yeah. These two are really adorable.
But the big question is: do they have time to do anything?
I hope so: when we are dealing with literally thousands of tons of filler nothing happens in a seconds and C.A.P.I. was the guy who was able to disrupt all carefully orchestrated Than's plans, but still, when your best bet is someone as scatter-brained as Miriam… I'm not 100% sure even C.A.P.I. could help.

Dammit CAPI and Miriam are so cute. I'm hoping this leads to CAPI overwriting Than's computer, reversing her saline theft and boosting Alexis instead, thus fulfilling the drug induced dream prophecy from LBSC.

Called it! I knew CAPI was going to have a hand in this!
I'm guessing CAPI is going to fulfill the roll taking everything that can be of use for Alexis to win.
And that is the cutest shade of pink lipstick on Miriam.
