Or is she still too bitter for all that from her childhood experience? A “cute child version of Than” kind of showed that her mother (or was that a step-mother?) played important (if not necessarily pleasant) role in her childhood. Yet… her “the only advertisement for that place is by word of mouth” shady organization with thugs and crazy doctors hardly looks like something influential, wealthy and “proper” person like her mother will approve. So… what happened? What's the relationship between Than and her mother (and the rest of her family) today? The same question for Alexis is also somewhat intriguing, I guess, but to a much smaller degree. Her mother may not be all that supportive WRT some decisions Alexis made and how Alexis celebrates the mother's day may reflect that, but… her mom have not looked like someone who may try to suppress Alexis personality. I don't foresee any reason to see deep conflict there.
