There are no landmarks and it's not even really important. We know that Patagon is related to Than is some shape or form because of the chapter's title page. It may be something owned by Than or instigated by Than or even Than's rival organization, but but it's hard to imagine how remote and pretty isolated area could affect Than. In fact we know it's not very well isolated: ghost town is ghost town, after all: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_town" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_town</a> Ghost towns rarely have their own jurisdiction. Of course as long as they don't attract eye of the government they can do many shady things in a [former] ghost town, but at some point they are bound to attract someone who'll actually read the letter or law.

Khimru

Okay,Patagon is not in Cowloon.Sheesh;I never thought it would upset you to imply that! Where are the landmarks that verify that Patagon,in which this new story arc takes place,is anywhere near where Than lives and works?

CZealot

Note that in some cases discriminative qualifications are allowed and are not considered unlawful. That's how strip clubs and other establishment work. It's called “bona fide occupational qualifications”: <a href="http://goo.gl/OUDmon" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://goo.gl/OUDmon</a> But note that to use that defense difference must be intrinsic to the business and not just “the corporate image”. Customer preference can “be taken into account only when it is based on the company's inability to perform the primary function or service it offers,' that is, where sex or sex appeal is itself the dominant service provided.” As court have put it: “one does not have to be either a psychologist or a sociologist to recognize that, if it were widely known that 10 topless women were walking down Park Avenue and 10 topless men were walking down Madison Avenue, the effect on the traffic on Park Avenue would be substantially greater than on Madison Avenue”—in such cases different rules for males and females are permitted. But even in such an obvious cases it was actually decision of court and it specifically noted that law also included “mirror male ban” (where females could not work topless males could, but “human male genitals in a discernibly turgid state, even if completely and opaquely concealed” are forbidden): <a href="http://goo.gl/6PwVX5" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://goo.gl/6PwVX5</a>

Come on! Why do you think Cowloon is ever involved? Only one chapter of LBSM was in Cowloon, after all. And that's only because Alexis was “bought and delivered” there on a plane! And it's not like it's hard to distinguish citizens of Cowloon from all other places LBSM used: it's the only place where we've seen NO normal humans (except for Miriam and Alexis) and ALL citizens had udders (female ones) and tails (no exceptions). Even Alexis figurehead had udder and tail, for crying out loud! How many characters in THIS chapter have tails and/or udders, hmm? ZERO! So WHY do you think it's Cowloon? On the other hand ALL other chapters have happened near (or in) Than's establishment thus natural assumption will be that it's somewhere there—and nowhere near Cowloon! And that's even if you'll forget that chapter's title showed us Than (in the guise of Icarus) quite prominently. But if that's some district near Than then the following story immediately springs to mind: <a href="http://www.patreon.com/creation?hid=823710">http://www.patreon.com/creation?hid=823710</a> Senator Papageorgio! Remember him? NOT his highness Papageorgio or his dictatorship Papageorgio. Senator! As in: someone who's supposedly participates in creation of law in “deliberative assembly” ( <a href="http://goo.gl/AMgtfO" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://goo.gl/AMgtfO</a> ). As for it “may actually be … a sovereign state where the laws regulating workplace equality and discrimination are different from here”. Sure, sure. The exact letter of law could be different from what US does, there is wide variety, of course: states have right to choose HOW EXACTLY they will “take measures to seek to eliminate prejudices and customs based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of one sex or on stereotyped role for men and women”. But in the end the appropriate laws are similar in Bolivia and New Zealand, Russia and Germany, France and Hong Kong. Because, well, they come from the same source: <a href="http://goo.gl/5buc78" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://goo.gl/5buc78</a> … Don't look on the name of Convention BTW: it may be named “Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women”, but it firmly establishes “the equal rights of men and women” and yes, the appropriate laws are used to fight discrimination against men, too. Only rogue or failed states like North Korea or Zimbabwe don't have the appropriate laws—and I sincerely hope that “Patagon” is not a North Korea.

This story arc occurs in a place called "Patagon",whose Administrative District/Town Hall has sent Amelia to guide Maggie Buttons(a.k.a. Suzi-Q) and Marigold through the tour.Since it's under the LBSM title my impression was that Patagon is IN Cowloon. If it's NOT,the country whose jurisdiction applies there isn't made clear, but I suspect it's not in the United States, and may actually be,as I reiterate,in a sovereign state where the laws regulating workplace equality and discrimination are different from here.

CZealot

Why are you talking about Cowloon???? Cowloon is “autonomous corporate state”… inhabited by cowgirls and geographically not even close to Than (they needed to plane to travel there for crying out loud!). Whileas here we have some corporation with humans (albeit somewhat peculiar humans) and related in some sense to Than (if title page for chapter is to be believed).

Khimru

Hopefully that is Amelia! I'm most interested in learning more about the blonde girl. Really cute hair and amazing boobs!

Bronn

Why not? It's not uncommon for crime lords to own legal business, too. Makes it much easier to explain where all the money come from. Or she could be shadow owner and use it to become parliamentarian (to gain parliamentary immunity). Who knows? There are many possibilities.

Khimru

How could it be Than? You think she runs multiple businesses?

Bronn

Cowloon is a sovereign state. No laws we know and recognize would apply there, and it's my suspicion that Cowloon is a Plutocratic Matriarchy, since by Rhea's own declaration the government is in fact a private corporation, and every authority figure we've seen so far has been female. Whatever laws are in effect regarding workplace discrimination are likely very different from the ones we know.Judging from what we've seen abut Cowloon's commerce and industry it favors women primarily. It's impossible to judge just how well the males live in this society since they've all been just background props.

CZealot

Depends on size of corporate ladder. Not on size of corporation per se, mind you, but more of an organizational structure. We've seen four bosses here, if we'll assume something like 10 000 employees then “the big boss” could be CEO or there could be half-dozen more managers on top of her. For the comparison: both Google and Microsoft have 100 000-200 000 employees (with contractors) yet in Google lowest intern will have five or, in rare cases, six superiors on top of him or her (including Larry Page himself) while in Microsoft there will be 10-12 intermediate managers between intern and CEO (NOT including Satya Nadella himself). My best guess here is that CEO is Than-sized (if not Than herself). Not only 12-14 levels of subordination are hard to track in fiction, it's very inefficient in real life, too. Microsoft is trying to reduce that number, LOL.

Khimru

At least as big as Than!!

Bronn

Son of a...wait so how big is the CEO than!?

Galka30

Yes, this single panel showed a lot, but if their badges were actually usable we would have known names already, too (although I'm not sure how to make badges which will be usable for larger “bosses”, LOL). As for “names may come later”… given the history of LBSM I'm not holding my breath: how many times have we seen “Hostess” or “Doctor”? Yet both are still unnamed… This is minor issue, though: as you've noted this page showed that breastsize is used to denote a rank… which makes no sense whatsoever but looks awesome for sure. Perhaps we'll eventually know why that happened… and what they do to someone who'll decide to break the chain of command and grow bigger then their position allows.

Khimru

Really? I thought it was quite clever. We really get a sense of what this company is like from just a single panel. The names may come later. I'm really hoping we do get to meet each of them!

Bronn

Perhaps but if they are legit and large enough then it'll end with a lawsuit in hurry: I think they could get away with “reversed glass ceiling” (where most bosses are women and men are only grunts), but I don't this they could ignore Anti-discrimination laws completely… could they? Four levels of “bosses” kind of imply large organization… Almost certainly more than fifteen employees…

Khimru

I'm thinking they don't hire many males. The reason for my thinking is because of the Boss Lady with the glasses reprimanding Amelia's supervisor.I'm thinking too many men would deliberately screw up just to receive that kind of reprimand, which would be more of a reward!

CZealot

Ha, corporate chain of "expansion" xD

ChamberSuit

Oh my god, so much big boob squish. This is so awesome.

BioYuGi

Haha, well played with "Big Boss" there, I'm guessing down the line there's "the Boss". But yeah, I agree with you two, I love this comic. It leavese curious as to their world. Like for instance this company, is it run by Than, or is it an entirely new company? If it is was it formed for the women who have rough times working in other places, ex. Sadie, or is some sort of status thing? Does it represent the town or is it stand alone?

Batman

I hate it! I understand that Amelia is new and not very good with names, but still… how should we call bosses”? “Auburn-haired boss”, “brunette boss”, “blonde boss” and“ big boss” (who may or may not be Than)? Just kidding, of course: I like LBSM very much but number of characters without names sure is staggering… and annoying.

Khimru

I love this comic...

chuylo

Not that i wouldnt mind seeing more men with boobs this size...

Bronn

Also I'll mention that the blonde boss looks about the same size as Alexis at the beginning of the comic..

Bronn

Also.. Just REALLY want to see more of the corporate life of the company and what it's like women this size to all function together in a work environment. Sounds like they need to hire Sadie...

Bronn

Who says they hire males? >.<

Bronn

Wow loving this!!! Can't wait to learn more about this organization....

Bronn

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it

Simon Thomas

Ohkay… But if breastsize is used to denote the rank then what happens to males? How are they gauged, hmm?…And what happens in case of demotion?
