Deveel's services are never cheap but their deliverables are not cursed… heck, both Non-Stevie and Kay have gotten what they wanted fair and square with no ill effects! Of course their desires were kinda mundane, if your desires are more exotic then you may not get what you wanted to get (“senator Papageorgio” comes to mind), but it's usually the problem of “you've received what you've asked for, not what you are actually wanted or needed”… read the fine-print and don't forget the magnification glass when you deal with deveel! And last but not least: usually it's stupid idea to try to directly attack deveel, they tend to keep obvious vectors of attacks well-covered and under control (because some customers just don't understand that deveels are just “honest businesmans” for some reason—we've seen how Alexis attempt have ended, right?), but they certainly are not invulnerable. Think about “senator Papageorgio” and Alexis again: as a story of “senator Papageorgio” clearly showed Than does not often reveal her real identity—this is one of many layers of protection she, as true deveel, employs. Yet her vanity meant that Alexis now knows about that and she's not under Than's control at the moment! Worse (for Than): Rhea, almost certainly, have that information, too—and Than, most likely, does not know anything on Rhea! If you'll talk with enough Than's “victims” (fools who have not read the fine print) you'll eventually have enough evidence to organize her downfall. Key to the puzzle is called “patience”… and avoidance of needless heroics… it's much simpler to collect the evidence and present it to the powers on the top when they'll decide that someone must be publicly flogged and ostracized (genocide, development of illegal weapons and illegal prostitution, specially child prostitution work rather well as pretexts) rather then try to fight deveel directly. Sure, you'll not be able to see the “priceless look” of beaten deveel, but hey, look of a deveel stuffed in a prison cell (probably custom-build prison cell in case of Than) is good enough substitute.

Sure, Chase was an asshole way before Than hired him I'm sure but he was only just that far as we know: an asshole. Than is FAR worse by any standard.

The only difference is that they are doing similar body modifications on their own volition while Chase was transformed into travesti by force, thus I, too, feel kind of sorry for Chase… not much, though: as Than put it “he made himself a nuisance to just about everyone else”. Chase was way overdue for some some kind of punishment, yet I've not expected THIS.

She's deveel though and though: if some deal brings more money then it's better deal, end of discussion. Morality, conscience, soul-searching? What are these? How do you monetizable them? With that in mind note that Than talks about “a little hard work, some training and guidance” on previous page which kind of implies some active participation… of course if Chase “drugged out of his gourd and used as a fleshsack” will bring more money then this will be his destiny, I just don't think it's what'll happen right away.

He's an asshole true, but he works for a much more assholish woman by all accounts, I feel a bit sorry for Chase. On the OTHER hand if it weren't for the current setting this would be pretty damn sexy.

Here process happens much faster and shape is different—you could almost see where one implant ends and another begins. Which is not a good thing: it means that these implants are overfilled. Meh.
