Well based on what the anime actually has shown thus far that's a lot of assumption though of the like 10 vampires we actually know there is 1 that potentially doesn't do things with informed consent. And Anko is currently specifically hunting down those doing things above board, even though, if that assumption was right there should be way more important targets for her to hunt right now. And even in the case with Anko's/Mejiro's father him saying "I didn't crave blood until now" and all the other stuff he was muttering in his delusion didn't seem like the reaction of someone that doesn't know about having turned into a vampire. Though that is now assumptions on my part. Right now there is no way to know what is actually the more normal behaviour for Vampires, if somehow 90% of all vampires in the region are just happen to be especially weird and abnormal or if that is simply how Vampires tend to be.

2025-08-23 22:10:54 +0000 UTCSo it's (mostly, at least) finally come to light. Yeeeah it's pretty hard to be mad at her after seeing what she's gone through. I think the most striking part to me about the vampire "system," which goes back to the teacher at the end of season 1, is how many people were turned without even knowing? You get wrapped up with some hottie and next thing you know you're craving blood without even knowing why. It's like you say, we spend so much time focusing on the "good" vamps but Kou knowing and actually wanting to become one is an exceptionally rare case. On a global scale, surely the more common situation is that people are turned against their will and left to pick up the pieces themselves. It adds a lot of extra nuance to the idea that vampires don't know much about themselves and also don't like talking about it. I'm sure it's traumatizing as hell.
