2024-08-02 01:27:19 +0000 UTCThis piece feels special, somehow. I don’t know why or where exactly I feel it, but there’s something almost personal about it? Or maybe I’m just reading into things. Either way! It’s another stunning piece. It’s adorable and sweet and just funny enough with the stubborn denial. I really enjoy how you portray AfO and Toga’s relationship. There’s a little sister quality to her in the way she interacts with him. She sees past his violence and recognizes the heart even he doesn’t want to acknowledge has any sway over him. And yet…clearly, it’s reaching for Toshi. You make Toga so sweet but don’t file down that edge of madness and danger in her. You probably draw my favorite version of her outside canon. The colors are so fun and your lighting/shading is some of my favorite you’ve done so far. The pinks and blues first, then the starkness of the (Not) Love Making, because I assume it’s always lights on, over the covers with AfO. He’s gotta see his conquest in action, after all. I also really love the ai/love kanji snuck in there. A charming touch. Of course you’re smashed these two together in such a satisfying and sexy way. All the softness and bulk of AfO bearing down on Toshi, who is all bony angles, is just hot. Opposites in all the right ways, yet so similar in ways neither may want to admit. At the risk of becoming repetitive, your ability to convey emotion through such nuanced facial expressions is sublime. God, especially on that last page! AfO’s subtle confliction mid-fuck then reaching TO HOLD Toshi’s hand is just- fuck (though I’m sure AfO could explain it away that he just didn’t want Toshi to cover his face, but even THAT isn’t the whole truth). Even just seeing Toshi’s mouth, you can feel the shift in him too as he probably wonders what’s happening next as his hand is grabbed. It’s all just SO GOOD. A short and sweet comic that definitely starts this month off right.
