More than that, he knew that Ichigo wouldn't stand a chance against Yhwach, which has been proven multiple times now. He'd never ask Inoue to come, because he's low-key in love with her. And Chad is more Ichigo's friend than Ishida's. I'm just saying there are more reasons than you might think for Ishida's line of logic here. Also, yes it's emotional - but it's logical as well. The only one that will be able to defeat Yhwach is another Quincy. This has been confirmed by Ishida, Ishida's grandfather, Ishida's father (as he's leaving to go fight) and finally I think Jugram will also confirm this later on.

There was no need to do the undercover-double-agent-chuunibyou nonsense, no need to shoot-but-not-kill whoever, and all this sneaking around. If you thought it through thoroughly, what was your Plan B? C? 2024-12-29 06:52:42 +0000 UTCIt does get annoying at times but kubo approach with Yhwach royal guard was the right move. Its the final arc and these are the biggest and most dangerous enemies. How can he make it feel like this is the end game. By making all the members damn near unkillable and you can't defeat them by conventional means. The espada were a way more interesting group story wise but they lacked the threat level that the royal guard have.

Same for Kenpachi, he could sense his sword crying. But then again it’s probably just a coincidence and not necessarily an ability. Ion know 😭
