The grandfather (who took our saon and tried to kill his grandson) has taken multiple orphans and in the end he only chose one of them to become his grandchild (because we still don't know how saon ended up at the fisherman's house and at what age)... And one of them was the twin (who we just found out is the assistant) but since saon was picked maybe that's why he hates him to the point of destroying him..or maybe there's a much bigger reason but I'm sure that he hates saon's -fake- family more than he hates saon.. and maybe the other twin is the doctor that Erza was sus of.. and he's doing all this to find his brother.... Maybe
