What I believe went through his head is first "My hand its healed!" then he remembers that the only person other than doctors and family who came to see him is that strange girl who survived the crash with him without lasting injury and then thought "COULD SHE HAVED HEALED ME THIS WHOLE TIME AND NEVER DID!"
