For me, logically, it's Akane. Shampoo's affection towards Ranma is based upon one thing: he beat her in a fight. So her love for him is based off of the fact that he's strong, can supposedly give her strong children, and the dictates of her society state that she has to marry him. I'm not saying that her love for him isn't real or that that's not necessarily enough to base a marraige/relationship off of -- historical marriages have been based on far more cynical reasons -- but it is incredibly one-dimensional. Akane, on the other hand, knows this man, has lived with him, has fought alongside him, has seen both his flaws and his good points. She has a much better understanding of who Ranma is. And, sure, she's still trying to figure out what her feelings are for him, said feelings are for a more comprehensive and whole picture of who Ranma actually is outside of being a strong fighter. That said, Shampoo is cute AF and, yeah, it's nice to actually be pursued and have affection verbalized and demonstrated towards you without reservation. So the emotional me is still kinda leaning Shampoo, even though the logical me knows Akane has an actually stronger, deeper connection. That said, not being called a "baka" and being physically assaulted all the time would be nice. Then again, constant murder attempts whenever you get soaked isn't ideal either, so I suppose it kinda evens out.

At this point, the only to solve all Ranma's problems is to clone a few copies of both the boy and girl forms and settle things that way, or just go full harem.

2024-12-17 03:44:36 +0000 UTCRanma, despite not above using trickery in combat, still maintains his own sense of chivalry. Ranma does not really like Ryoga much personally, but still sticks to keeping Ryoga’s secret identity from Akane as a bro code of sorts.

I like Shampoo, but Ranma likes Akane and just wants her to be honest with her feelings. Shampoo facilitates growth and I love her for that

2024-12-16 02:00:32 +0000 UTCLet’s see here… We have a mutually aggressively tsundere main couple, a delusional swordsman who pines for both of them, the swordsman’s younger sister who’s psycho and sneaky as hell, a constantly lost melancholic, resentful, pigheaded drama king, and now a Terminator of a Chinese girl, who tries to kill the protagonist’s female form, but instantly falls in love with the male form. How many more eccentric characters can be piled on this lineup?
