2024-12-17 17:17:32 +0000 UTCYou know it's written by a woman when EVERY girl is in contention for Best Girl, and I'm not complaining.

2024-12-17 02:59:10 +0000 UTCBro what is the name of that mesh chair? Also it's clearly only a Kiss of Death to lose to a female because you just lost to fucking competition. It's different if a dude defeats you. How else do you reckon the village maintains its population, hmm? IDK why they were so surprised about that, it's literally Logic 101 if you think about it

2024-12-09 10:22:04 +0000 UTCA bit of voice acting trivia: Before joining the cast of the original 1989 Ranma anime, Noriko Hidaka (Akane) and Rei Sakuma (Shampoo) played the two female leads of Gunbuster, who co-pilot the eponymous mecha.

2024-12-09 05:22:01 +0000 UTC😅 Ranma doesn't really have any beef with Ryouga other than the Akane thing but Ryouga HATES Ranma because he blames Ranma for his P-Chan curse! I mean, we all know it was the fault of that girl and that panda, but Ryouga blames Ranma. 😜 I'm glad we got to "meet" Martine but I really hope we get to meet Azusa's Oscar at some point, too! 🤭

2024-12-09 05:15:12 +0000 UTCthat ryoga vegeta power up was ridiculous lol. to his credit ryoga often gets used as a plot point to put ranma in a difficult scenario but right when shampoo showed up he was like oh she doesnt know your girl form, then ranma said oh yea p chan, so the beef reignited. but yea hes meant to be somewhat trashier because of his motivations (like a lot of the characters) which is why he'll "never beat" ranma the🤘thing is common older anime/manga, its like a reaction when theyre surprised or scared or knocked out. the author uses it a lot. it still shows up sometimes in new anime mostly comedies

2024-12-09 01:40:05 +0000 UTCThe butt pat and pull down eye thing that the skating girl did is a common kid's taunt that was common around that time. She basically did that to taunt both of them. Very common to see in Anime/Manga from this timeframe (80's/90's).

2024-12-09 01:17:59 +0000 UTCTakahashi so goated, I just now learned they often call it the "Rumic sign," named it after her, SHEEEEEESH

2024-12-09 01:09:11 +0000 UTCRock and Roll sign is in reference to the "Karana Mudra", which comes from Buddhism! It's a gesture that is used in warding off anxiety, fear, etc., and inviting in more positive energies, like strength and peace! Essentially Rumiko Takahashi (the mangaka) is known for often utilizing the gesture to indicate someone being scared or freaked out by something. She also tends to use it to show that something is comical and not meant to be taken seriously (like when homies are getting smashed and knocked out by chairs over blankets lmao). It's like a "relax, guys, this character didn't just develop severe had trauma, it's just jokes right now". I remember asking the same thing when I first started watching the original, "bro, this ain't the time to be throwing up the horns, RUN!"
