As a former adrenaline junkie, I can defo attest that if you keep having intense experiences/up & downs, you eventually become numb to it and your baseline happiness just remains the same. Found out this is called hedonic adaptation the other day and was really intrigued by it. After reading up, I learnt that smaller continuous spikes and learning to appreciate the little things end up giving you a greater baseline happiness than otherwise. Already learnt that from experience but it was interesting to see it articulated scientifically

2024-12-07 13:03:09 +0000 UTCI can't remember why exactly, but the fiance told jaemi to fake her pregnancy--she mentioned it twice before. So it isn't a secret she's keeping from him. It's a secret they both are keeping from his family. I think it was just an easier way for the mother accept her to be married into the family, knowing she'd be getting a grandson.
