Jayce /caused/ this by 'killing' Viktor. Whatever the hivemind would have amounted to, would have taken longer to coalesce without him cracking the shell. Jayce tried to offset a prophecy /he made up/, and caused it to advance instead. . Ambessa wouldn't have been left to manage the commune's bodies (because they wouldn't be dead), Singed wouldn't have gotten to make sure the "mutation" survived (because Viktor would have rejected his advances), and Viktor wouldn't have so quickly gotten the impression that 'humanity' itself was the problem. . Also, the animators said "We ain't here for no 'implied' fornicatin' this day." . Imagine a Season 2 where Jinx still attacked the council hall, but they'd had the meeting hours ago and the place was just 'empty.'
