I lived by it as a mobility teacher for blind folks before I was crippled. It was shocking how many teachers disagreed with that mindset and just wanted to guide students around instead of teaching them to be independent. I was pleasantly surprised by someone else mentioning it.

When Hajime threw him to the monsters in the next to last episode last season he commented that if he was lucky he might survive like Hajime did.
