She is pure and the Everlight is the Redemption God, so despite being in hell, she tried to help the people there. Zerxus in his hubris tried to redeem the Lord of Torment, one of the Betrayer Gods and obviously failed. There is a lot of lore in regards to the history of Exandria, the Calamity being the cause of a war between God's that ruined the world and created the age they currently live in. Obviously things have progressed since then since the calamity was so far in the past. But think of the gods more like a family than competitors
