I mean, one thing with writing fiction (I write novels) is that you have complete control over the plot and characters...unlike life. That's one of the joys of writing. I feel like the dad, having lost control of his family, particularly needed this feeling of control. That's why he got turned off his work when ML started acting on his own free will. He didn't need more losing control. He needed control.

2024-10-02 03:46:27 +0000 UTCMy favorite thing about Kang Cheol is that he will ALWAYS stand on business. If he said that shit, he will DO that shit. I have several potential theories about why Kang Cheol doesn't think Yeon Joo is pretty/beautiful and doesn't react to her sexually/sensually when she stripped down to lingerie. He possibly can't see her as beautiful/attractive in a romantic partner way because: 1. He's her father's creation and her father would not be able to perceive her in that way, so neither can Kang Cheol. 2. The genre of the manhwa is crime thriller and not romance so he's unable to think of anyone in a genuinely romantic way. (Possibly due to the rating of the manhwa.) It's just more noticeable with Yeon Joo than the secretary because she mostly behaves like she's in a rom-com with him. 3. The dad doesn't know how or maybe care to write romance. (Let's not forget the dad's own failed marriage.) 4. Kang Cheol's assigned main love interest in the manhwa is the secretary and so he is unable to actually genuinely find anyone else attractive. Any other supposed "love interests" he has as a "playboy" either are off screen and intangible or never go beyond vague flirting that he doesn't feel.

2024-10-02 02:23:32 +0000 UTCAgree except the webtoon would probably get canceled soon after. There's also "Extraordinary You" which is a similar concept. I don't recommend it only because the show kind of forgot it original concept half way through. Still a fun watch.
