He never had any autistic problems, if you watched the whole show and had a deeper understanding the two people assumed he had autism. If he told them that he did then he lied for sympathy. And there are a bunch of narratives and social issues related to mental health but in our society that is literally what they do. Many people get diagnosed after committing crimes. Not sure where you live but autism also does not qualify a person as good either. An autistic man with other mental issues shot up a school killing many people including himself. Does that make him a good person? No, so the writing the way you translate it is a reality of the way our society sees mental issues. As a Psychology major and someone who loves when K-dramas incorporate mental health issues in ways that are well interpreted (Bad and Crazy, Flower of Evil, It's Okay Not to be Okay, etc) this in no way had anything to do with autism it was only mentioned once and never again. He is a Psychopath and uses "good" people to get his way. No inch of autism in him which is why I thought your comment in the previous episode was so weird and stretched out. Mental health issues are important, but digging so deep into it, especially in a show that does not target it, is especially stretched out. In my experience with K-dramas, the overall nice guy with such a kind nature but still weird is most likely a bad guy, so them saying he was weird was a reaction of someone who K-dramas have deceived.

I just didn't appreciate that one element, however, it doesn't make me value the show any less considering it's just personally not my favorite show to begin with lol Just honestly rubs me the wrong way, knowing the social climate surrounding mental health, so when I see it used to "explain" behaviors or cover up negative behavior in a character, it sets a bad precedent...and some people will run with those narratives out of ignorance and that's more so what I'm disappointed in the writing for, it's just a lazy writing mechanism to say that the character has a mental issue and that suddenly explains their quirks.

First when the guy did something bad I didn’t even think abut the character supposedly having autism, that is a plot that I completely forgot as I’m assuming most ppl did. Second the character himself was already suspicious to people cuz he always covered his face and has an ID with his face scratched out which just makes the ID pointless, making him MORE suspicious. Third your take can ONLY sort of make sense if that guy happened to be the only bad character, which throughout the show it’s very clear that he isn’t. Almost half the tenants here or the characters were evil in some way and showed they could be evil. So if they had made the only supposedly autistic character be the only guy that was bad, then ok you might be unto something…but that wasn’t the case. Fourth, your comment insinuates that because a character is autistic he can’t be evil? Him being evil would have had nothing to do with his autism, he is a person like every other character and people can be good, bad etc no matter what, and not once later on in the show does any character insinuate that because he might have autism was the reason for what he did. So I ask…why would your thought go in that direction? Especially when he isn’t the only evil character? Oh also pretty sure it’s not even actually confirmed the guy had autism, those cleaners just assumed he has it because he acted a certain way and said “I think he has a little bit of autism” in which just shows the ignorance of those two characters because what is having “little autism” there’s no such thing, you either have it or you don’t, you can’t have “a little bit of it”

And maybe that’s why you feel that way as it may reinforce certain stigma in that particular country but I don’t know that’s just me trying to also see things from your side

Keep in mind the premise of the show started with the doctor killing his wife. Multiple people are evil. It also wouldn’t surprise me if the person who had all the survival equipment was on some type of spectrum. So I feel like the writing is balanced. Because on another note just because someone has autism that doesn’t mean they’re not capable of murder. It shows a person with autism can do everything I can do. You know a person like me really likes villains and if I had autism I would be sad to be excluded from playing an autistic villain lol. So I just think it depends on how you take it.

I get the whodunnit fantasy of it all but...if they were going to do this the whole time, they shouldn't have made it a character they wrote to be autistic or exhibit autistic behaviors...cause that says something about people not trusting people who have Autism...
