I know you have already commented on the 6 year graduation thing. But i think this is also a flaw with anime that are as fast paced as this. Some plot points are grazed over so quickly that it doesnt stick sometimes. Small thing I've noticed.

All they had to do was not hype it up quite as much since they knew the budget wouldn't let them focus on that attack. They made an obviously poor decision with the writing and budget, that's objective and undeniable. You also can't possibly expect me to believe that the budget was that restrictive when this show is AI assisted not traditionally animated, and the whole point of that is to prevent the old budget restrictions we're used to in anime.

They put all of the cool animation budget into specifically just will and julius in that episode. In this episode they had multiple characters and a completely different playing field and had to focus on the finale of will vs the drake. Just because he did a mini ice comet in the tournament doesn't mean they can afford to make what you want in this episode that is completely different.

Yuki does all of the MHA soundtracks and sort of has a type of style of music he likes to do from what I have heard from him so these new OST's from him are something completely different from what I think of as his usual stuff.

Episode 1, 1st scene, we see all 6 of them in the same classroom in a lesson and the anime introduces Will saying "Academy student 6th Year". They are all in their 6 year, the last. Remember for distance reference its been 18+ hours since they fell to Floor 11 and it took them a whole day at a sprint to get to Floor 10 so the professors are still 12+ hours away and that's assuming they're at least 3 times faster with no snags or detours.

It's still just a theory, but the evidence is piling up the more I think about it and it's hard to see it being anything else. It does explain a few things if it does end up being true though.
