2024-09-26 23:37:39 +0000 UTCI've never seen a drama more suited to have a polyamorous triad as the main romantic throuple as much as this one. Every time I rewatch the show, I feel it even more. It's the only thing that could enhance the show, imo. Everything else about it is perfect. The only other drama to come close to this (and wasn't canon polyamory) was the Jdrama, Nobuta wo Produce. While You Were Sleeping takes the cake, though! The way the narrative is tied so closely to all 3 of them. Our 3 Flying Dragons! The way they work best as a team of 3 relying on each other for safety, security, and success. The way they are able to hold each other accountable when one of them is in the wrong. Woo Tak dreams of Jae Chan, Jae Chan dreams of Hong Joo, and Hong Joo dreams of both of them...it was like the story was purpose-built to make me ship all 3 in a polycule. I love it! PS. Of course, a near-polyam drama can't beat out the ULTIMATE polyamorous throuple drama: 3 Will Be Free. Canon polyamory will always win out for me.

Kinda like why we get HD Big Mac's in Makoto Shinkai movies. Or why Kentucky Fried Chicken is considered a cultural food in Japan. Marketing! Heck, the reason Santa Claus is defaulted to red and white in America, because of Coca-Cola (St. Nicholas actually wore different combinations of red, white, gold, and green. Coke defaulted to coke bottle colors to boast sales and it worked)

2024-09-19 14:27:01 +0000 UTCIt's interesting watching the difference in the different foods the different households have in this show. Suzy and her mom got the unlimited pickled banchan feasts. Meanwhile, the prosecutor and his brother be eating simple sesame oil poured on top white rice. Homie Lee Jong Suk couldn't even cook an egg a few episodes ago without getting clapped ๐ณ. Mom's be really doing their food prep. I remember how my mom til this day will have won tons, pork-shrimp filling, Congee broth, Chinese "black" sauce, all on standby.
