2024-09-06 05:47:36 +0000 UTCBut speaking of beaches, one thing that did put a smile on my face on this episode was Leon taking the kids and teenagers on regular field trips to the Santa Monica Pier, so they can have fun at the free amusement park and not be deprived of the Pacific Ocean like he was. While Franklin and Teddy are the main characters, you can argue that Leon is the "Hero" of the series

2024-09-05 21:24:48 +0000 UTCOne thing that shocks me is that Leon had never been to the beach until Franklin took him there. I grew up in and around the same hood and would go to the beach all the time with friends and fam, ever since I was a baby. In fact, the hood part of the beach has the best burritos (Manhattan Beach, right next to Venice, Muscle, and Santa Monica). The hood got a nice beach, but this is Probably a commentary on him being trapped in the projects. I was lucky to have a dad who would be a part of multiple worlds in that being a pastor and nonprofit owner kept him working in the hood, central LA, and Hollywood (and I say this because to Franklin, his LA was a bigger place because after Alton left he grew up with Rob in North Hollywood and central LA)... El Tarasco is the burrito place I'm talking about by the way. It's round there near LAX, near where Skully and the bloods live
