Things will work out for him eventually cuz he will get powerup or these threats actually pose no threat. Unless Tempest falls to ruin or someone important dies then it means absolutely nothing that there are stronger beings. Rimurus power may as well also be called the Chosen one since things just work out for him anyway.

2024-09-01 17:02:37 +0000 UTCthats the problem with all these shows. look at naruto and dbz. they bent over backwards to make more and more powerful villians. basically retconning whenever they wanted because they needed more powerful villians. as soon as naruto gained the nine tails sage mode, he was basically the most powerful ninja who had ever been besides the sage of 6 paths. theres no way madara would have been able to beat him. so suddenly madara is pulling susanos out of his butt with no eyes even. rediculas. goku went from being a figher who can shoot a lazer beam out of his hands to a guy who can body gods easily and had to fight people from multiple universes to find someone stronger. even then he became stronger :D

2024-09-01 15:55:42 +0000 UTCthe problem I have with slime is that the main group is so powerful that everything can be solved with violence and it becomes less interesting as the show goes on. its like "oh they are charging us extra? well no problem lets go threaten them with our immense powerhouses" and theres no one to keep them in check except Rimuru's pacifism. Which leads to no stakes and to no consequences except made up ones that end up being of no consequence anyway. Under normal circumstances can one just be like "oh this nation is hogging us? yeah lets go start a war and fight them!" and doesnt lead to the suffering of thousands? basically war doesnt mean anything in this series which turns it into a slice of life for me. Its a good show with nice world building but theres a limit with how far these shows can get, hence why ppl started dropping it. Theres no repercussions to the decisions they make cuz its gonna work on in the end no matter what. No meaningful death, no emotional attachment cuz like dbz they gonna revive each other anyway. Shion's "death" was the first time I was like "oh shit is hittin the fan now!" and then she got dragonballed back to life. I love Shion as much as the next person but when a show has no stakes like this in a isekai story with war and action....it really makes one not take these plot lines seriously anymore. just my two cents. I dont see anything wrong from enjoying the show as a slice of life but ppl who tell me slime has a good plot Ima have to disagree.

It also needs to fit into Rimuru's plans for his co-prosperity sphere. One thing is that the nations who are involved in causing the problem are the members of the Council of the West, which represents a large political and economic bloc. It includes all the humans in the Western nations that are not already part of Rimuru's team. Not a backwater. In real-world terms, it's the EU. Kinda. It seems to me also that if you want to favor your own group, it might not help to favor something outside of it preferentially.

I think it’s mentioned in the novels that they can’t just have the stellar coins converted to gold due to some issues with the available gold coins in circulation. Basically they can’t just Tempest gold coins since they don’t have enough. Correct me fellow manga/LN readers haha
