No Longer Allowed interesting but kinda mid, the fanservice thicc doesn't really make up for the super campy/tropey characters & interactions, on-the-nose parody. MPunch follows a Youtuber 'cancelled' after fighting with her 2 friends/cocreators - she makes a new channel with goal of 1M subs, is traumatized by negative comments, trying to find sensational content she meets vampire girls, one who really wants to drink her blood. I only watched first ep last night after seeing it recommended so much. not sure if rest of the show is your type, but the YT stuff is so core&prominent I can't see anything but good reaction. Animation & art style on point.

For funsies, "I Parry Everything" but only because its about a tired looking middled aged guy. At least I can somewhat relate to the MC lol "Failure Frame" but only because I liked the LN series, anime adaptation got that Arifuerta S1 graphics (arguably even worse somehow) lmao

Vtuber Legend is unhinged degenerate cute adult girls doing cute things. Has a lot of meta Vtuber streaming jokes that even non fandom can understand. Ossan Newbie Adventurer and I Parry Everything are overpowered himbo MC's being stupid and funny yet cool. Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army is Slime's "building up an empire" vibe without the isekai.

A slow burn, but amazing, better than MHA or Slime is for me. it's the movie Arrival merged with Made in Abyss - potato faced chibi characters contrasted against a brutal reality, but set in modern cities with massive alien ship ominously floating above. Arrival + District9. Follows schoolgirls graduating, going to college, with the alien invasion backdrop & its effects slowly treading onto their lives. High notes include (non spoilery, basically all ep 1) - a tankie chuuni with one liners like "history of war is a series of man's mistakes fueled by the capitalist war machine" lmao (not taken too srsly) American interventionism & fallout/pollution from it. Military industrial complex trying to sell weapons as 'green' & 'clean energy no emissions'. Plus the most realistic depiction of anti-war protests in all of anime, includes burnout. Misinformation in digital era - 'lame stream media'. Desensitization to eternal war, civilian death, and it's long term mental impact. Some derealization of human culture, exposing our pettiness. Some scenes nearly as brutal as Attack on Titan imo

Tried Psuedo Harem but the format wasn't for me. Dropped the Suicide Squad Isekai real quick. I'm 100% checking out all of Nier once that finishes. 86 team and I've heard some great things.

2024-08-17 23:52:12 +0000 UTCYou guys are pretty much watching all the current seasonal anime that I'm watching rn except for a few that I wouldn't recommend I would suggest No Longer Allowed in Another World The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant is another one I'd suggest as its a rom-com that's only 12 minutes per episode so it'd be pretty easy to fit in. Also unfortunately, the manga author passed away so this season would be the only one ever.
