Fun fact, Song Hye Kyo washed her face for real in the scene when Yoo Shi Jin watches Mo Yeon through that rifle, that was her face without makeup, it was talked in a show and other actress who played in this kdrama said that she was shocked because the makeup it's a big for an actress. 2024-08-09 23:18:08 +0000 UTCIt is absolutely a valid point, as the subs on older shows aren't that great, and not what one would expect in 2024 (haven't paid attention to newer shows). My acceptance of subpar translations is based on my own personal experience with kdrama and I can understand why some might find it frustrating.

2024-08-09 23:13:51 +0000 UTCSorry to say this, but it only sounds to me that they hire a bunch of sub-par translators with their free pass as the reward to save money. Operated like a pirate website, while acting like a professional streaming service. I'm only saying this because, if taking this drama here as the sole example, there're too many sentences that seem to have been translated by native Koreans whose English is on the poor side, or some English speakers whose Korean is on the beginner side. To call them "translation" or "subtitles" would be an insult to those that are in that line of work.

2024-08-09 21:59:22 +0000 UTCViki's subtitles aren't always the best, but they are done by a team of people that volunteer for a specific show and who's only benefit is a free viki pass. Since it's multiple people subbing a single episode at the same time, to maintain consistency the team leader may decide to go with a more literal translation, while another team may chose to go for the meaning instead. if you speak multiple languages and switch the subs to something other than english, you will get a totally different feel to the show.

SWAT don't get demonized/aren't considered morally compromised when they shoot down a terrorist to prevent innocent casualties. Doctors also have to triage and let people die if it's to save others with a higher chance of survival so why not apply similar logic to this guy and the village kids even if it's not a 1 to 1 comparison?

Her line was something like "Nothing can stop me" as in "I've got nothing to be afraid of". Viki might have THE WORST subtitles in the whole world. They translate most of the lines so literally that it sounds so weird or corny in English context (and extremely verbose to be called "subtitles"), and then they go ahead and do over-translate like this and make it sound like a bad English dubbing. And they have the audacity to ask for money while there's no least amount of quality control in translation.

In Ep. 1 she was confident in calling him a murder and considering herself a life saver and now we have the life saver wavering on if she should save a life. Good thing the murder is there to remind her of the Hippocratic Oath she took. Sigh...I'm just happy we are getting to see her get in touch with her human side. Her confession was the cutest and our guy couldn't wait to savor those lips. I love this show. Only in K-Dramaland can we watch a toxic narcissistic FL have a handsome competent ML fall in love with her toxicity flaws and all. Gotta love it. Let's go FL Redemption in full swing. I hope. LOL
