Ya, I'm getting hung up a bit on the word "enjoy" tbh, I don't "enjoy" DomeKano but studying the misery is a very captivating part of it. If Vanitas is similar then it's a close battle, if it's not as controversial then it's probably more "enjoyable" but less interesting. Domestic Girlfriend has a "call of the void" quality, I don't enjoy it but I still feel compelled to vote for it because it's oblivion 🤷♂️ We all tend to crave the flame.

I heard Domestic GF was some kinda cringe weeb fetish dumpster fire; I checked it out for myself and I saw a human story about people in an impossible situation where SOMEONE was going to get hurt no matter what. I'd (usually) rather watch a show that has more discussion points under the surface, so there's that. I haven't seen Vanitas yet, but I did some research on it. Vanitas looks like my kinda show for lots of reasons, mostly due to interesting worldbuilding. Domestic GF seems like NOT my kinda show on paper because it sounds awful, and yet I gave it a chance and I thought it was actually a really good piece of literature at the end of the day. tl;dr Soooo... I haven't seen Vanitas but it looks like my preferred choice on the surface, I HAVE seen DomeKano and it had more under the surface than I expected. I'd probably enjoy Vanitas more, but I would probably have deeper emotional moments with DomeKano.

2024-07-22 02:07:04 +0000 UTCI will say that at the very least Vanitas (anime) tells a pretty complete story, but for domestic GF if you are very into it the likelihood of a second season is minimal and unlikely, so you have to get the manga to complete the story.

I think I rated the anime a 5, but I still binged it and felt gripped, had to know more lol legit interested in seeing it again thru YBRL, especially since they'll probably fall out their seats - can already hear Director, "no.. No... NO. WHAAT."

I think its a pretty good reacting show tho. Just to see yall faces drop at wtf is happening. But Vanitas has also been pretty wild too. But Im kinda watching alongside yall and its alright. Not my thing tbh. But DG season 1 isnt all that so they pretty even to me.

So it's okay to chose the 3rd option as i didn't/won't enjoy both of these right?
