I avoided shows that were over 20 episodes...21, 22 is another story...but def not 2 seasons and 30+ episodes lol...

If you want to go with more slice of life and comedy go for Reply 1988 (should prepare tissues for some tears though) PS. Hotel Del Luna also has an amazing cinematography.

It was so fun to see people reacting on how they fell in love, how the trauma was processed, how people in the show viewed life and gave life lessons too. It had high ratings and a lot of hype in 2021 not just because of kim seonho and shin minah but bc the storyline was SOOO good and all the actors (which are mostly from the theater) are also soo good. The ending is one of the best as well in a way that it was wrapped up soo well + it gave us the classic romcom trope which people have been craving for 🥰❤️ Kim seonho has a lot of fans now but he was not that soo popular before homcha (although there was Startup) Most of the fans just started after homcha based on my observation in twitter back then

It's a chill, comfort drama, and maybe I need a rewatch, but is this really a reaction type of show? I always thought it's more of "watch it on your own" type of thing. Or is it because of the ML? I know the actor has a big fanbase. Just genuinely curious.

It's definitely a romance drama, but the plot is pushed forward by our complex characters, who are from multiple ethnicities and vastly different classes. The cinematography is also very beautiful. It's an artwork of a show in both writing and visuals you won't regret watching this.

Re the other options (the majority of which I watched apart from hometown chacha, Mr sunshine and sky castle ) reviews are more consistent.

Both shows r very 1 dimensional, "safe" plot with not a lot going on and have tons of "long pause gaze" scenes that they mentioned they didnt like. Was really hoping Reply 1988, Healer or Signal wins. WYWS, Homecha and 2521 are not bad picks either.

We see again and again that they dont like these types of drama - Goblin, Twinkling Watermelon where the plot and the characters are very 1 dimensional. WWWSK is the epitome of kdrama tropes - young rich CEO that is perfect but have 1 trauma that leads to them being "insufferable" at first, leads meeting each other when they were a child, etc.

What's wrong with secretary Kim is also good too but I don't consider as worthy winning the poll among those other better dramas. I remember so many scenes from these shows and they're all great. They're ones i'd always be searching up to see if anyone reacted to it and wyws put me on to Jung Hae in🤭. I watched 2521 more recently and I was kinda sad to watch the last ep because it truly meant I finished the show, I loved it that much. I also really enjoyed Signal, it was a nice switch in what I'd usually see in Kdramas. Even if they don't win soon, I hope I can see your reactions to these!😁

2024-07-16 00:52:00 +0000 UTCit's not great tbh. i'm not sure why everyone here is such a die hard fan of it. maybe you could tell me what about it you like so much? the writing is decent when it comes to the mystery, but the interactions between the leads is just juvenile. it's a lot of finger pointing, a soft resolution, then more finger pointing. that doesn't make for great storytelling or writing. the actors are great, but the directing and writing just take the show from a 9 to a 6 at best.

However their 20 episodes long duration will probably be one of the consideration not to be picked by Lee. Editing cost for those 20 episodes versus the Revenue...will it give good ROI...🙂
