Not 100% on it but danmachi was around a while before black clover or mashle came about. I honestly wouldn't put it past black clover or mashle creators for getting inspiration from danmachi. Hopefully this will provide some traction over to danmachi and both of these works can get some more appreciation.

Its that the only comparisons made are the two mainstream anime about magic so its sad to see the creator himself not even getting any props for his other work called danmachi which this series derives a lot from. It wasn't just Lee though. Multiple other reactors only compare it to BC or mashle and don't even know about danmachi which is lame but it is what it is.

The thought that there would be something magic cannot beat is unthinkable, and it could be their down fall if something comes along that is immune to magic. The one they look down upon could well be their salvation when that time comes. Pure speculation, but the tropes are there.

What i'm about to say are NOT spoilers because they were in the first episode first at 9:46 When he was talking about being in the orphanage. She had a book opened on the page there was a guy with a sword so I believe he's from a legend as well as being a warrior second at 13:49 When they show the in between parts as a commercial, they bring up a piece of paper that has all dats on him in there. It says that he has a sword skill that can even defend against magic third at 21:00 When he picks up the monster sword, he's still able to block his magic. So I honestly don't think it's the sword he's holding, it's just his sword skill that he has.
