First off and the most important part of the reaction…GRAPE Kool-Aid all day. They can keep that heartburn RED except when you only have one packet of each then it’s a combination. LOL. Imagine being raised by a father who was a highly decorated officer in the military. Next, going on to graduate from college, going through the military yourself, then being hired by one of the most important government agencies in the world the CIA. Now fast-forward to your life today where the success of your career is dependent on an inner-city black kid who didn’t finish high school. This is Reed. His envy of Franklin is very evident. He can't figure him out and it's killing him. Here is proof. Reed used the same manipulation tactic on the Connect in the club that Franklin used on him. He used the words the aunt spoke to him in the cemetery and he damn near used them verbatim. He told the Connect "Because I believe so deeply in our personal connection and our business relationship." These are the words the aunt told Teddy that Franklin said towards him, which resulted in him getting Franklin out of jail. Just like that the Connect asked for a hug and the subject was changed. He is learning how to be human from Franklin. Franklin and Javi's relationship is one of mentorship and respect. Franklin had to pull the gun on Javi because that is what Javi taught him. Nothing else would have made sense in that situation. Plus it's a show of respect as opposed to a threat. Approaching Javi without a show of force would have been disrespectful. There is no honor among thieves. When Franklin went to get the info from Javi, all that was for show. Javi needed to be the man in front of his people and Franklin understood that. Javi looking at him when he was leaving was him being proud of how Franklin was moving. It reminded him of himself. You have to remember the dad was deep in the military before joining the Panthers. He knows how the gov't operates. The minute Franklin told his dad how Reed was moving, he automatically knew he was solo with no help. Normal people would not have caught that. How do you suppose the dad caught it? Mom did right by telling him. Franklin still isn’t paranoid enough. He did not know the neighbor cop was following him. He would have taken him straight to his real house. The plot thickens…Lets Go…

2024-07-09 02:48:51 +0000 UTC36:11 - The old newspaper articles were on microfiche (which is actually still being used since not all organizations can afford to digitize their historical archives) 40:29 - Avi saying Franklin pulled up like he's "the black Bronson" was a reference to the Charles Bronson "Death Wish" movies from the mid-70's/early 80's where the main character becomes a vigilante. And yes, I feel very very old for knowing these references 🫠
