The season 3 trailer drops some Easter Eggs about the issue of Sydney's partnership role and how it's defined.

DTGstl314

FYI, she ran a catering company out of her own garage and only moved back in with her father after the company failed. I think the problem is a lack of boundaries being set. They've clearly expressed that she is a partner, because her and Sugar and Carmy are all deferring payment for 6 months together so the rest of the staff get paid, but there hasn't been any real discussion on what that means, which is unfair to Sydney. They've both placed a lot of trust in each other, but she's in a more precarious position. If I were in her dad's shoes I would be putting a stop to her working for free with nothing on paper.

0:56 lee u been so bullish on richie’s stock during these series of episodes that adorkable can now agree 😂🤝🏽 W conquerors haki lesson in there. believe in something lmfaoo

Totally random, I do believe Fak is his best friend. He likely sees Richie as MIKEY'S best friend, not his own.

I never said you nor the show said "own." *I* said "own." Because that's what he's doing to the Beef. He owns the Beef and he has 0 experience doing that. Carmy can do Sydney's job without her help (in fact, that's what he did at his old restaurant). Carmy can't do HIS job AND Sydney's job on his own. He ~needs~ her. He knows it too. That's why she's his partner. Maybe season 3 will change that, but as of now, this is where we stand.

Post episode discussion was good, y'all got almost every angle. One detail you missed was Carmy doing his little sign language to Syd, non-verbally apologizing. He may have kinda come at her, but he does ultimately understand that she just wants to be in the loop and agree with her.

Really enjoyed the outro discussion.🤔

I or the show never said own. Let’s not get carried away and make me seem like a Sydney hater. The show said he ran the best restaurant in world. The word need implies that if Sydney left he wouldn’t be able to function. The simple fact that he was already wildly successful just a couple of months ago we know that isn’t true

Carmy didn't OWN that restaurant though, and he certainly wasn't running it alone, nor the way he wanted. He also wasn't dealing with as much emotionally as he is now. CARMY thinks Sydney is necessary for this. That's why he wanted her back, that's why when he had the money he had her come in as a partner. The partnership is why she's deferring payments with him and Sugar (as the team leaders) to make sure the team gets paid. Carmy needs her. According to Carmy.

Sharles Davis Kendy

I like Sydney but Carm was just running the best restaurant in the world while Sydney was ruining her credit running a catering company out her father’s garage into the ground. Just going off what we have been told so far I think everyone is greatly exaggerating the amount she is needed.

jason ross

I'm pretty sure Sydney is considered a partner, though I don't think and correct me if I'm wrong they've done anything to legally make her one, which might be what's causing all the confusion about what she exactly gets a say in because it's not official. They definitely need to have a conversation about stuff for sure.

Nicolr

I liked the end discussion, as usual, plus the amazing reaction. Keep in mind that Syd tried to open something by herself and it didn't work, and now she's part of a new restaurant that is being "remodeled" and will open soon and Carmy kind of bailed on her. He let her know, but it was a cold approach, so you have all these people talking about having a great engaged partner and Carmy is not engaged... But at the same time, I feel like he's trying to do new things to "bring joy" to his life? So it's hard on all sides.

94_h

Carmy low key doesn't know how to manage lol. Either Sydney is just a regular employee, or she's the girl he relies on too much and gives carte blanche to. He benefits the most from the lack of clear boundaries so it's definitely up to her to speak up about a real partnership.

Boldixia

I believe its cause they consider it a partnership and she is putting an immense amount of investment into this. Idk the outlines of the partnership so idk what is the baseline of how much say-so Sydney gets.

Esthoneal

I’m confused about sydney wanting a say so when it’s carm’s property and his uncle’s money funding everything. Has she only been there for what a couple months if that?
