Honestly, the reason why I haven't watched this kdrama in spite of the hype is bcos of fandoms saying this is 1000% better than Queen of Tears 🤧 I mean you can enjoy LR without comparing. QoT is simply untouchable for meeeeee, you don't disrespect QoT like thaaat. So same feelings as you guys in the reaction. I can see the reasons behind the twinkling watermelon comparison, Time slip drama with high school romance themes. I did not enjoy TW. But really liked Lovely Runner , especially the last 5-6 eps. Those really put me over the top.

also this drama became popular just because of the actors and story they had absolustely no promotion comapared to other series when it aired they thought it wouldnt really get as much traction cause the actors are not like the creme top tier even tho they are famous, the actors started going on variety shows and promotional stuff after the drama gained popularity so this show is kinda like the underdog of the drama industry

also just some info they have same uniforms but they belong to different schools one is all boys and other is all girls school and they are near each other some reactors get confused here and think they are from same school which they are not

this show will definetely make you go thru some rollercoaster emotions cause the female protaganist when is silly acts absolutely silly and when serious will makes your heartstring pull and the actor very much makes you believe in his character- for me i liked this more than QOT cause i relate to sol very much

sunjae is swimming against an olympic swimmer in that practice competition ahah so it was a given that that guy would win first (its also why the security thought that sol was after that guy cause hes a famous swimmer), its why sunjae is happy even though he got second, his time was probably really good for a high school swimmer

The haters have always been wrong about this show imo, the show rests on the main actress much more than the male lead. And as a non-kpop stan the human connection in this show overpowers the fan service aspect of it, which is why someone like me can still enjoy it.

Glad you like it so far! The main reason it's getting compared to twinkling watermelon is the time traveling and the accident stuff. Other than that I don't think they're that similar. Twinkling watermelon was nice but it didn't really resonate with me, I didn't care that much about it. But I love lovely runner, got super invested. Yes the actress is awesome, this drama was actually written with her in mind as the female lead and they actually got her for it so it's perfect. And yes! that was Yuri from Girls generation in the beginning.

I feel like every fangirl would relate to what Sol was going through. I have been an ARMY for so long and if anything were to happen to my seven, especially Jimin.. i dont know what i would even do. I would lose it. He found me when I was the most depressed. Pulled me into bts and they have been with me every step of my life since then.

This dramas had such a huge success, I think the main reason it's because it gives old rom com kdrama vibes, full of comedy and clichè moments, great cast, and a very captivating plot (You'll see). Just wanted to say that it actually took three year to produce this drama because all the male actors refused to accept the role, thinking it was just a story about the love of a fan for an idol. The director changed meanwhile filming, and the show didn't got many sponsor so the budget was very low. But here we go.
