2024-05-22 13:19:55 +0000 UTCThis show actually has some of the most confusing subplots with the royal family D: So basically the Pungyang Jo Clan and the Andong Kim Clan are very famous families often referenced in historical dramas because their current lineages can be traced all the way back to the Joseon dynasty, to this day, you know if you meet someone with the surname Kim or Jo, it's likely they are descendants of a member of this clan. Actor Jo Insung is one(he was the cool flying dad in Moving and also Bongsoon's wallpaper at her job in SWBS). Anyway, this show was HEAVILY criticized by the living descendants of the Jo Clan for depicting the Queen Dowager (Jo Clan ancestor) as being heavily into shamanism and people were so wary of the platform being sued they took it down from all sites for a long time. Not the first time that clan had flat-out filed a lawsuit for historical defamation (as South Korea is HUGE on defamation laws). Just some food for thought, even though this is all fictional, there are some people out there that still take it very seriously how their ancestors were depicted :) the more you know.

Did the Grand Queen Dowager employ the whole army to empty it and now it's only the servants. Ps. Damn lol I wrote this just before they answered it in the show haha :D

2024-05-22 04:20:14 +0000 UTCthink Adorkable misread the situation, it was Dowager Kim that kidnapped the servant as we see the kidnapper report to the guy on the Kims side and have a fake letter from Dowager Jo that was used as evidence. We also saw Dowager Jo ask the consort to trust her so she can help her but the consort refused as she sides with the King over the Jos. We also saw a Jo try to recruit a maid to be a patsy to the pushing so the consort can be in the clear.
