If you hadnt noticed the overarching theme of mushoku is people having inferiority complexes. Roxy, rudy, paul, aisha, norn, ghilaine, sylphie, sara, eris, pax, cliff, zanoba, julie, every single main character feeling inferor to someone and it messes with them.

same for me. this is my favorite scene of the entire arc. with all of Rudy's faults, he fit into the over protective big brother roll with ease. to me this whole scene was one of the best character growth moments in the series, for both Rudy and Norn.

This episode made it clear, but both Rudy's sisters have some degree of an inferiority complex. In Aisha's mind, she NEEDS to excel, NEEDS to make herself useful, or like her concubine mother, she'll be tossed out into the winter cold. Given the choice between fight or flight, she fought. Norn feels that same pressure, but she can't take it, she doesn't have a way out. It's breaking her, so her only "choice" is flight. To hide, to escape, until the danger has passed. But it will never pass. She will always keep running. That's my own problem. Which is what happened in Rudy's past life. He fled right into Truck-kun. In this life, Roxy helped him face his fear, so that he could fight. In Norn's room, he basically showed Norn that he was not a threat, but someone who could help her. Now she has the strength to fight. Aisha might actually be the tougher problem. For her, she has to let it all go. She doesn't HAVE to fight, to be useful. She can just... be. My own sister has this problem.
