Whoa...This whole story is wild and China being the start of it all should pique everyone's interest.
The level of hidden messages in this series is thought-provoking. In my opinion, the biggest hidden message by far has to be, "Society must learn to fear again if it wants to survive." It is common knowledge that we are living in a time of fearlessness; thus, the pursuit of Big Data, adaptable AI technology, civil war, social media, nuclear technology, and all other forms of human destruction, is justified in the name of progression. It is seen as the new normal. Even Oppenheimer in his time was in complete fear after seeing his creation put to the test. The look in his eyes when he said "I have become the destroyer of worlds," was a level of fear like no other.
Currently, those in power fear nothing. It is the fearlessness that has made the human race most vulnerable to manipulation. This series highlights this well. FEAR, while it still exists on a more servitude level, is used for the exploitation and progression of the majority. The Director hit the nail on the head. The aliens utilize vulnerability and the illusion of inclusion, as manipulation tools. Even the most rational person can deduce if an alien society is living on a dying planet and is seeking refuge in another, they are not coming in peace to cohabitate. They will need to make a new planet their own. They will need all of the planet's resources including its human resource. To do so, they will need influential allies.
Another tell-tell sign of nefarious intent is the illusion of inclusion designed as part of a VR game should be another telling sign of nefarious intent. VR games operate in virtual reality/another dimension, where you are unconsciously forced to make real-life decisions. They are using the human's need for validation and accomplishment. They have convinced them that they have accomplished something via reaching the next level and that only their aptitude has allowed them to be enlightened where all others have failed. Only those with an obsessive thirst for more knowledge and pursuit of the unknown can move forward; thus, revealing their ability to be the most malleable. This is the disparity between Jin and Jack. Jin is 90% scientist and 10% f**k the world. Jack is a smart rational idealist which is why he was expurgated. Although his aptitude afforded him the opportunity to be enlightened, his human intuition gave him discernment; thus, making him a 3 Body Problem. Those aliens were like "Nope, we will have not one recalcitrant human fu**ing up our acclimation. We have journeyed too far for this. CUOH.
This is my type of series right here!!!

Makes sense. Especially when you dedicated yourself to a life’s mission. Life and work become indistinguishable

I just have to say, as a scientist myself, if someone asked me if I wanted to stick a piece of suspicious alien technology on my head and experience a lifelike virtual reality that was indistinguishable from actual reality, and that if I die in the game, I might die in real life, my answer is going to be yes every time.

it's funny they used the same song that was used in Invincible when the truth about Onmiman was revealed

Also if you liked this story, I wonder if you know that this is actually based on a Chinese novel and they started their adaptation in 2023 which now has 30 episodes. Seems like the novel series that this show was based on has quite a large following

48:58 I think a more appropriate term instead of "scam" is "cult". Both words work in but cult seems to fit more here. The emotional manipulation the aliens use on the humans is not unlike the behaviors a cult leader might use to attract new members

That Black & Red dress the AI woman was wearing is fire =). Really cool looking, this episode when I first seen this got me by suprise with that death, although it was pretty obvious in hindsight as he did leave and had info that they didn't want him to spread.

Hey whats good, Lee.
I don’t mean to be a bother, so please do forgive me if you find this question to be annoying in anyway, but is there any chance we can get an ETA on the last Blue Eye Samurai?

Hey Lee, just as a heads up it's displaying as an image instead of a video to watch.
Thanks for the clear explanation. That helped solve faster
