So I started watching the reaction and thought I was going crazy. I clearly remember watching this series but this is a completely different show. I had to look it up. The one I watched was China Midland on Viki and this one is Netflix's adaptation of the book. The one on Viki does not incorporate the history in the beginning and the storyline is completely different. The plot is the same but this adaptation has a lot of details that are not included in the one I watched. This will be interesting to watch.

2024-04-22 02:26:51 +0000 UTCWhat a surprise! I enjoyed it. It's based on a highly regarded scifi book series from Chinese author Cixin Liu and adapted by the Game of Thrones guys. Book 2 of this series changed how I look at science fiction; it was phenomenal. The cultural revolution stuff they showed in the 60s was accurate. Basically they encouraged the youth to stamp out western, capitalist ideas and culture to promote Chinese communism values.
