Talking about Slam Dunk makes grown Korean men act like teenage boys..

Yup exactly she looked at the magazines that had pictures of Mr. Johnathan when he was young so she knew he was grandpa the moment she saw mom coming out of mr. Jonathon shop. Which then made perfect sense when eun gyeol told her her grandpa was his teacher.

Had fun rewatching this great show with y'all. The ending was almost perfect though it could have been perfect if they showed the FL's family too.

There's a reason why this show is one of my top top 2023 dramas! Idk y'all, I've always been "meh" about shows dubbed as "healing" tv shows, but there's no other way to describe this one. Such a good medium for the message they were trying to portray and of course it resonated with a lot of people (everyone has parents, or lack thereof).
Even wanting to know more about Eunyu's future, and Sekyeong's outcome, overall it's unnecessary. The open ending was made in a way that the main themes of the show were tucked closed, nicely. I love this show.
**As for Eunyu figuring out who Mr Vida was, in-story she was researching his band with newspapers and books that had "a lot of pictures." No doubt she saw a younger version of him on there. (It's funny, he was played by 3 actors)

Also Ha Yi Chan saying "The Game is Only Over the Moment you give up" is him again quoting Slam Dunk. Any time I see this guy make a random, grunt, quote, or hand flail, I just assume he's in Hanamichi anime Chunni mode

nah fr i was cracking up Slam Dunk is INSANELY popular among the male idols and celebs, Suga from BTS literally has the manga collection and used to quote it all the time too(he also plays basketball really well as a shooting guard which is where his nick name suga comes from cause shoo and ga from the first part of those words lol) *sorry tangent*

Watching this made me check out Slam Dunk episode 1 on YouTube. Ha Yi Chan really based his whole personality on Hanamichi Sakaurai, complete with the random grunts, hand movements, tornados, and Chunni stuff.

One of my favorite little things about Lee Chan's character is how he's always quoting anime till the end hehe his last "i gave up on giving up" is a direct Naruto quote(yes it is extremely popular in Korea too). Naruto says "Give up on me giving up" ๐ and the other famous anime thing is "the left hand only supports" is from Slam Dunk~

One of my favorite epilogues was Enu Gyeol getting to connect with his great grandma as well as the granddad he never knew existed. Eun Gyeol and Granddad's on air chemistry was really good every time they sat at the coffee table to discuss business. Plus you find out that granddad was wholesome and was only being played by the crazy squid game lady.
