Folks think we only do romance but we literally are covering shop for killers. I think about 40% of our Kdramas are non romance in nature with things like Worst Of Evil having it…but like..na?
it looks like Queen Of Tears is consistent and airing. So its back into consideration.
I took off Hotel Luna. A couple people compare it’s viewing pleasure to Goblin. They didnt say its the same. Just based on feedback, on Goblin wouldn’t recommend Hotel Luna. To be clear Goblin was a great experience and iconic, it has lows and highs. But id rather avoid shows with so much low moments.
For example Marry My Husband has ZERO low moments to me. Never watched an episode and thought “wow this scene is dragging”. Thats a personal opinion. It’s different for people. You may enjoy the staring and get your tissue out but because i dont feel the same the same way as you to that stimuli…i end up just staring and waiting for something to happen. Lmao.

I did not specify which K drama is replacing twinkling watermelon. Ever since I found out that parasite was coming out in a few days and is a Korean product. I hesitated.
We have a few spots with twinkling watermelon , and I can increase the frequency of “shop for killers” so you will for sure have the average of 5 K dramas a week.
I just wanted to make sure that parasite is going to be a good show in the first place by a couple people getting to it before me

2024-04-03 09:10:34 +0000 UTCi completely agree with you. while it's not my favorite by far, i do enjoy it. i was just letting you know that your argument for it was actually an argument against it. they don't seem to like many fantasy or paranormal type shows tho, so i'm not sure they would like hdl. i compared it with goblin in that respect. but i loved goblin. i mentioned before, i eat these kinds of dramas all the time. but i stopped recommending dramas because they don't seem to enjoy many of the ones i do.

But I do think IMO all kdramas have these moments, it's just some shows have too much of it. Even Marry My Husband has a couple of parts where I was like, "ok, ok let's move on" and I loved that show and felt it moved pretty quickly. For HDL, I liked the mysteries and backstories of the guests and employees. I am also just a fan of shows with paranormal angles.

SECRETARY KIM, CRASH LANDING ON YOU, BUSINESS PROPOSAL are dramas with romance as their central theme, while GOBLIN also although it was wrapped with fantasy of Korean folklore

2024-04-02 15:23:06 +0000 UTCFor kdramas that all depends on how central the romance is in the story. IMO they are all kind of "stare at each other all day" to me which does get annoying. I don't remember HDL being like that, but mostly because I always felt the romance was not central at all. The going back and forth about a decision thing. Honestly can't remember. Though I find that most kdramas (and cdramas) do tend to beat a dead horse about certain plot points and waste eps. There is a central storyline (hers), but each episode generally centers around a guest at the hotel. I would say if you have time on a whim, watch an ep or two on your own to see if it's your speed and if it isn't, it isn't.

Mainly because the purpose of that hotel and the people in it. And maybe because, again, the different stories of "sub-characters" in each episode that doesn't really make us watch the main characters paralyzed with the same decision for 3 episodes. This is why I would love to see you guys react to HOTEL DE LUNA and TOMORROW. Both stories dwell with passing and afterlife with different perspective. HOTEL DE LUNA is kinda "a rest area" after passing for souls. While in TOMORROW, seen from grim reapers pov that work in an afterlife corporation which deals with accidental and suicidal death souls. Again, both series have different great stories in each episode. Both series have comedy, humanism, drama and of course fantasy. Knowing you enjoyed Death's Game, I hope you would like HOTEL DE LUNA and TOMORROW 🙏🏻😊

Also if it can be posted to YouTube it would be a hit for views. Because everything else on the romance list is imo, timeless you can cover this for the hype rn.granted just from the eps I already watched I think this might be a classic once it finishes.

Not for reaction. Unless if you consider to do reaction to some of Running Man clips on YouTube or some of the episodes listed above, you can watch it on your other channel by yourself like how you do reaction on K-Pop. Well, it is up to you. If you watch it, you will know why I said Running Man is most popular Korean Variety Show ever. Those websites I listed above is fansubbed website. I think this show also available on streaming service that focus on Asian content such as Viki or Kocowa because like Kocowa, it is only available in the US like Hulu so it is not available in my country as I live in Southeast Asia while Viki, it is available in both Asia and the US but for Variety Show like Running Man in Viki website or app, it is only available in the US.

I also remember this criticism from when they did Goblin. It’s not the same. I have heard that criticism from a lot of people. That's one thing I hate about kdramas. Regardless of genre, most tend to switch genres to action before the last few episodes.

But that alone isnt enough for me to recc it. The premise is good, but poorly executed. The ML was ehh, and the episodes boring and hard to get through. I generally have a higher tolerance for waiting for things to pay off in shows than they do, and even i struggled with this one. Then again, everything's subjective so they may love it. Who knows lol

Beyond Evil is for sure worth the watch, it has such an amazing cast, atmosphere, vibe and plot. Also, love the relationships between the main characters . For those who find it slow, well not every show needs to start crazy fast some need build up and for viewers to get into the mood of the series

She is the reason it was on my radar in the first place. And the premise was interesting. I was surprised that 2 other kpop artists were also recurring characters in it. Secretary Kim is on hold for me until I get over the fact that they used a plot point/trope that I personally hate (it was going great until then, but hard to say if it would have topped Hotel del Luna even without that part). I will definitely resume it later on. As I side note (because I can't get the suggestion page to work for me without crashing), I highly recommend Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Both leads are fantastic. There is a "prequel" and a "sequel" but they are unrelated to it as far as I am told. It didn't affect my experience in the slightest.

2024-04-02 00:54:54 +0000 UTCthe reason so many people rec it is probably because they know the reactors would like iu. her character is very similar to the lead female in it's ok. she's sassy, narcissistic, beautiful, amazingly dressed, and talented. the idea for the show is also very interesting; a hotel for the dead. i personally think it has a more interesting premise than goblin, but i love goblin more. gong yoo simp.....the visuals in hotel though, are really beautiful. i think they'd kind of enjoy it. but i'm also not sure how much they actually like supernatural or fantasy type dramas. they seem to mostly watch romance or realistic slice of life dramas. i spend most of my time watching period pieces from korea and china, so i stopped making any real recs because not a single reactor i follow would ever enjoy what i watch.

I’ve been waiting a long time to see a big reaction channel watch it, but it always gets lost amongst other K-Drama recommendations. I hope it’ll stay on your radar even if you choose not to react to it at this time.

Anf if not also would like to recommend " Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" this two are my all time favorite kdrama shows. And running in third is doctor slump hehehe

2024-04-01 21:56:46 +0000 UTCI couldn’t finish Hotel del luna, I don’t know why, but I felt bored while watching it🤷🏻♀️ I’d recommend you “Descendants of the sun” and “What’s wrong with Secretary Kim” You know both drama’s main actors. These are really good, especially DOTS. I’ve never seen someone reacting to this, because it’s old, but it has a lot of fans, mainly because of the SongSong couple. But, the story itself is really entertaining👍🏻

2024-04-01 21:45:48 +0000 UTCOut of the shows mentioned above I prefer what’s wrong with secretary Kim. It’s a timeless classic. Very entertaining and a lot to discuss and argue in a fun way. As for beyond evil, it’s a good show but personally I did find it slow (interesting tho) and I don’t enjoy watching reactions to it. (Just a personal opinion). I also do not see it pulling numbers on youtube. Hotel Del Luna is good but I did drop it after 8-9 episodes because of the repetition of the plot in each episode. Although pick the one which you find engaging because that is when we will get the best reaction.
