(uncut) Ninja Kamui Ep 8 SUB.....BIG DIFFERENCE
Added 2024-04-01 00:55:13 +0000 UTCThis is not about Sub vs Dub, I generally know sub is better. This was about even for a dub...just not being good, mediocre for 6 episodes...and TERRIBLE for ep 7.
We speak extensively because the Japanese sub carries when there are moments in the story that fall flat.
I also really didn't take the sub community seriously because i have people that are so Sub Elitst they wont give Dub a chance even if its good. So i can't decern whats in good faith or not. I hear people say things like "I can't watch a live action because i just cant care about the characters cuz they are not animated"...lol...you KNOW WHO YOU ARE! lol
Finally since i already know i cant make everyone happy, there are times i just make a decision and just ride the consequences of my choice rather than ponder and get stressed...
The works more often than not...def not today....what have I learned? Go with the superior choice and not JUST whatever its meant to be.

2024-04-01 20:10:16 +0000 UTCi think you meant dubs but yes that's the same reason. They shorten the phase to fit in the same messages and it ends up losing a lot of meaning and translations get lost for the sake of time in the adaptations

2024-04-01 14:54:00 +0000 UTCI just get burned on so many subs, even if the quality is great the dialogue is always off since they have to fit an English sentence in where a Japanese one was, sometimes the length between the 2 isn't the same and the English gets stretched or shortened into a weird phrase that doesn't sound as good. Honestly I'm shocked they do as well as they do with it in any show

2024-04-01 01:06:08 +0000 UTCI usually just like to go with whatever the original language is. And while this first aired with an English dub the studios behind everything except broadcasting it to the world is Japanese so I have to assume Japanese is the original. Usually whatever the original language is supposed to be is where it pulls through the best. Similar issues occurred during cyberpunk edgerunners because all the complaints against Mari here is what people were giving Lucy shit for in Cuberpunk edgerunners. But the English dub had the diversity which everyone loved. But not the effort in voice acting with some characters. The original is just the best. And for me it’s not an elitist thing Ik dubs can be good. I enjoyed cyberpunk dub while we’re on that. The original just always seems to be better. Look at the voice acting in Invincible. English show. AMAZING English cast. The voice actor for Mark is great with the voice cracks and general awkwardness Mark always brings with him coming through so good. Edit: I agree about this shows Dub as well. I thought it was alright decent. I liked the main characters voice. But the Japanese is just great

2024-04-01 01:04:16 +0000 UTCI think most of the time, its not even about which language is better but rather what the show's intended language is usually the superior option. I believe, in my experience, at least 95% of japanese anime is much better in japanese. Theres some shows that are "alright" or "good" in english but RARELY a show is superior in english for anime. The only one I can think on the top of my head is black lagoon. Where the dub is actually better than the original. But for american animation such as Invincible, Avatar the last airbender, Castlevania...aint nobody gonna convince me to watch those in japanese. Which is why...95% of the time, I recommend to just go with the original, intended language. No harm in trying a different language ofc. Just my two cents on sub vs dub.
