Polls Vs Community feedback

The reason I ask for feedback rather than do polls. So I can catch things I may not have considered by myself.

One thing I learned to compensate my intelligent deficiencies is to rely on the strength of other people. Then Exercise good judgment Afterwards

Sometimes people vote a show because it’s the only thing they know and I have a ton of other reasons why I don’t like to rely strictly on polls.

I sit through your answers for sincere replies. Since reasons to do a show and sincere reasons not to do a show.

There’s no bad opinion as long as it comes with respect

Those who include their personal opinion along with suggestions stand out as I’m skimming through hundreds of comments

RockLee, do you interested in doing reaction to Korean Movie and Korean Variety Show like you did with K-Drama and K-Pop? If so, for K-Variety Show I would suggest you start with most popular Variety Show like Running Man. https://www.myrunningman.com/guest/726-jennie (No Watermark) You can search any celebrities name on myrunningman website search bar at the top right button. https://watchasia.to/drama-detail/running-man (DramaCool Watermark) https://kisstvshow.to/Show/Running-Man (No Watermark) Running Man have 43.8 million total views on kisstvshow website. You can watch on either of these website. https://kisstvshow.to/Show/Running-Man/Episode-135?id=2368 (Episode 133) https://kisstvshow.to/Show/Running-Man/Episode-136?id=2369 (Episode 134) If you want to know how popular Running Man is, you can watch episode 134 where they went to Vietnam and you will see why Running Man popular throughout Asia. But I would suggest you watch both of episode 133 and 134 because these episodes are related. As for episode 133 they went to Macau where they challenge their fear of height. International Celebrity: Episode 135 Jackie Chan. Episode 410 Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill & Simon Pegg. Episode 482 Ryan Reynolds. You can refer to Wikipedia for episode guide. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Running_Man_episodes_(2013) As for my personal favorite episode is 271 & 272 (100 Celebrities vs 100 Athletes). https://www.myrunningman.com/ep/271#1 https://kisstvshow.to/Show/Running-Man/Episode-271?id=2504

Unless it’s a hit C drama that breaks international audiences like squid games we won’t be covering it. The reason being the anime community doesn’t even follow the drama side as much I don’t want further division by posting less K dramas to include C drama I’m already not posting Indian movies which I want to do more often of So I’m at my limit

Rock Lee

I would love some Cdrama reactions. They would have a blast with some of the Xianxia and Wuxia dramas I've seen, for sure! But they are typically long so IDK if they'd want to commit to them.

Feather_Noir

I havent watched kdrama for awhile, they arent as good as they used to be. Here's some of my favorite kdrama that I highly recommend. Healer, kill me heal me, reply 1988, whats wrong with secretary kim, W two worlds. Also have you thought about trying cdrama? As a isekai anime fan I think you would like wuxia cdrama like joy of life and evernight.

Pleasure Me

Hotel del Luna and What's Wrong with Secretary Kim are both amazing but Hotel Del Luna is my first pick! From what I remember What's Wrong with Secretary Kim is very funny and the romance is great as well. It very much gives Business Proposal vibes so it would definitely fit your tastes. Bonus: same mc as in Marry My Husband ! Hotel Del Luna is so so good as well and has an amazingly rich storyline. The romance is great and it has a very interesting main character with an even more interesting backstory. It's giving It's Okay Not To Be Okay vibes, esp when it comes to the mc's personality and character setup. I love it, particularly for the historical and fantasy elements and I think it would definitely fit your tastes as well. I highly recommend!

Maria

I really just want to put this out there again as I have noticed a lot of new names on these posts...If you're new to the channel, there's some things to consider as a viewer: do you want to see a reaction simply because you want to rewatch it with someone even if they don't necessarily enjoy the content? or do you want to see a reaction? In the year I've been here, I have noticed that most of these comments have been self driven and don't necessarily have the team and their legitimate interests in mind. I beg yall, please do not suggest a long sad romance or some emotionally driven drama, they are not good for time and honestly some of them are mostly 20+ extra time sink minutes of scenery and long stares into they abyss or camera spinning while 2 characters stare at eachother to melodramatic music. I want to see more comedy and action and suspense with a side of romance or romantic drama where the plot is actually thick and not just rich man meets poor woman and changes her life they like love octohedron tropes and high tension in their romance dramas fluffy, sappy, slice of life is not their speed

Mochi

ehhhh i would not consider that a romcom, it's more of a sad romantic drama and while it's a great drama it is not their taste and will definitely not touch their hearts. idk maybe if they were into watching more drawn out slow burns.

Mochi

i recommended ddos on a post where recs were asked for. this was not the post to make suggestions

Mochi

Respectfully, please take this comment as just my opinion for I’m speaking only for myself. I don’t believe you should feel obligated to react to the additional seasons of a show unless they are continuation seasons. Take TAXI for example. Similar to REACHER, each season is complete and there is no need to react to the second season if you don’t want to. This show is really good and consideration should be given to this show and similar shows with 15-16 non-continuation seasons; as opposed to, excluding the show altogether based on episodes and seasons. Also, watching the first season of an aforementioned show would allow you to yield the metrics letting you know if the second season would be worth it to react to. Two things I’ve learned in business, 1) People will pay for what they want and believe in; 2) Side ventures keep clients/patreons engaged and invested. I noticed you mentioned that the editing cost plays a role in the shows you select for reactions. Please note… I don’t have a dog in this race because I’m not a content creator, nor do I have an inkling what the efficacy of your ROI would be per series reacted to. With this being said, why not consider doing pledge polls? I’m making this Poll up so bear with me. A pledge poll would require a tad bit of transparency but it could work. I'm not sure if a poll like this is available on Patreon, but with the pledge poll, you would poll two or three of the more popular recommended shows with 15-16 episodes, an editing goal amount for each series, and a deadline. We Patreons can pledge a certain amount towards the editing cost of the show we want to see. The show that meets the goal first wins. Then those who pledged an amount to the winning show would send the said amount to you. It's like a fun game. If it gathers participants then yay. If not, then you lose nothing. This idea is based on my observation of all the members’ comments throughout my membership. A lot of members, including myself, are passionate about recommending the same show over and over in hopes of selection. Unfortunately, some of us cannot afford the VVVIP exclusive reaction cost LOL. This would be fun and a collaborative effort. Just a suggestion. Please take it with a grain of salt.

Bran Bran

my demon is pretty similar to goblin in terms of vibes, I watched a few episodes to see how it was but it didn't stick out to me, can be fun if you're into fantasy but nothing too special

halinh

Here for Beyond Evil exposure but some other dramas Id recommend are King of Pigs and D.P. - King of Pigs is sorta like a bloodier The Glory + more psychologically thrilling; D.P. has 2 seasons but a season is only 6 eps so total 12 - it's about bullying in the military & tells on diff stories from diff characters, most of them tear-jerking

el

I watched My demon and I'm watching Queen of tears, I love both, but knowing your taste I know you will absolutely like more Queen of tears. For now there's only 5-6 episode and it's been great, I hope they keep it like that.

Giada Mattiucci

I’d go with something darker with a plot like Tomorrow or Gyeongsang Creature. Both are legitimate, shows you may enjoy, and it can only be for patreon if the new aspect is missing. (Although Gyeongsang is pretty new just not airing rn) In the end I’m sure it’ll be something fun though

L.S

Since no body recommended it you should definitely watch "welcome to samdalri or daily dose of sunshine and the good bad mother "they're so underrated

In somnia

EXACTLY WELCOME TO SAMDAL-RI IS SO GOOD

In somnia

I'm okay with others suggestions but I'm actually kinda surprised that no one has mentioned welcome to samdal-ri it's a great show guys check the ratings if you want. It's an very easygoing and great show to watch. It has a mixture of all the emotions. Other suggestions also great but try to check it out and if you like the trailer then kindly include it in the poll/list

Zero Budget Creations

A few notes about Queen of Tears in relation to the YaBoyRockLee kdrama meta: - It is an absolute TIME SINK! some episodes go as far 1h:20+ - The cheesiest of romantic comedy tropes... which might not be for everybody. - It is still airing. Which might be good or bad, not sure. ... that being said, it's hitting all time high in ratings, and it's being pushed pretty hard on social media, and the leads are really popular so I would consider it.

ares

Please do Beyond Evil, it's such a fit for you guys. Also, I agree, My Demon is meh.

DJ

This was a good move. If you want a romcom, twenty five twenty one is the way to go

claireisuche

Our Blues is really good. It has a big cast, but one of the things I really liked about it was that the episodes would focus on different characters and storylines and would constantly switch so you never got bored by them focusing on one storyline or character too much (but they all tied together of course). It was a really good way for a “slice of life” show to keep you interested and engaged because you also never got overwhelmed from having too many people/things thrown at you at once.

Tammy S

If you guys want something new and pure comedy, Welcome to Waikiki is probably one of the funniest shows ever. Would recommend Our Beloved Summer or Weightlifting Fairy for romance that has a lot of fans. Our Beloved Summer is a slower more character focused show, whereas WF has more comedy aspects and is a more charming show I'd say. All of these shows are rated highly on mydramalist.

Andre

I see your point and see where we disagree I though I didn't give enough conclusions and plot advancement per episode and felt like most of the run time was air but I won't disparage your opinion

Tim Matumona

I have to disagree about Beyond Evil being slow paced. I think there is plenty of information and conclusions each episode and yes a couple things take longer to unravel but not in a slow paced way. I think it’s engaging all the way through, personally.

Em

Personally, I stopped watching 'My Demon' halfway through. 'The Queen of Tears' is a romance comedy, so it's fun.

Zero D

"What's wrong with secretary kim" popular and good fan base "Bad and crazy" less popular but an very fun watch to react to Those two are truly what I think are the best choices, other have glaring flaws for you, "beyond evil" : too slow paced, not popular enough, "hotel del luna" too much romance from the half and kinda mid plot, "queen of tear" amazing and popular start but still too soon to choose (I mean you can but if the story goes to an unpleasant place well...), "happiness" however is also not a bad pick

Tim Matumona

Omg same! Every time I rewatch it I get mad that no one reacts to it! It’s hands down my favourite!

Em

If we are really stuck on the 16 episode bit, then out of your current 4 on the list -Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim, Beyond Evil, Hotel Luna, Queen Of Tears, Happiness then Secretary Kim is currently the best option in my personal opinion as a contrast to Shop for killers. I love all my babies in My demon and Queen of tears but MD is truly a mid show and Queen of tears though airing, has an icky feel to it sometimes plus can't recommend a show that is incomplete, kdrama mid seasons and endings can be hit or miss. Consider adding "Signal" it popularised and launched an entire TV network TVN to the general public 🤷🏾‍♀️ but truly apart from that I will die on this hill/drama "Mr Queen" even if it takes you years to watch it lol

Ri Ta

I still say descendants of the sun or weightlifting fairy kim bok joo

Crez0le

I enjoyed My Lovely Liar from last year. Other than that it's Killer Paradox or Pyramid Game. I'm here for whatever pretty much wins. Again BARRY in Korean dub would fit real nice with the Kdramas. 😉 😂 😂

Randy Cooper

My Demon reminds me of Goblin but not as good. You guys would like it but wouldn't be overwhelmed by any means.

Randy Cooper

i rlly love this drama and searching ppl who reacted to it there's only two reactor who do it but that one reactor was not complete.

dalnim

omg it's already on my playlist for so long. guess im gonna watch it soon thnkss :))

dalnim

i recommend you watch "our blues" if you like these types of slice of life dramas bro, im sure you'll also enjoy it based on your recommendations

VernalBike

If you can't find some of these dramas on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Disney+, or Viu. You can watch these listed dramas on watchasia.to

Ryuken Fujiwara

My demon is mid I would never recommend it to reactors as there is nothing to discuss. I will recommend some good shows which which are rather old (4-5 years)but amazing!! Since you watch 2 kdramas you can keep one new and one a bit classic. Whats wrong with secretary Kim - its a fun show where the main lead girl is from marry my husband and the male actor from ittaewon class. Male lead is a bit toxic but in a good way. Legend of the blue sea - Really fun with a. Good storyline Hotel del luna - each ep has a new story while the main story keeps on going

Daisy

i would like to recommend u some slice of life drama tht i rlly love. hospital playlist ( love this drama so so so muchhh and the hv their variety show after the drama ended bcs their friendship and chemistry off cam was the bestt), prison playbook ( i rlly like each characterr so muchhhhh and the humor i rlly love it ) , reply 1988 ( there's other reply series but this was top for me ), hometown cha cha cha ( this might be cliche romcom but the best one for me out there u're gonna love all the character ). and then taxi driver ( the best drama revenge for me ). and just wanna rcommend some movies too like emergency declaration, pandora, along with the god 1&2, 6/45, sunny. wait my love from the star was good too i rlly love plus kim soo hyun was in it. that's it thankk uu :^)

dalnim

Prison playbook I keep bringing it up because I feel like it something you guys will really enjoy all the characters are extremely well written the actors are all amazing and their is so many discussions point through out the drama. Prison playbook also has a bit of everything Romance, Frienship, Family, Suffering, Perseverance.

Abigail Chavez

Love to Hate You. Romcom 10 episodes 🫠❤️

Sal

I think you guys would like move to heaven it's short and really moving. I see people recommending reply 1988 which is good but I would start with reply 1997 first.

Kimberley

Guys what’s wrong with secretary is also so good

Sam

No problem. Thanks for noting it. I am basically filtering spots from people in my consideration of opinions if that makes sense

Rock Lee

Raeven you are one of the comments i look for lol. I tracked 2 of your responses. I thank you for your mentality

Rock Lee

I feel you Raeven

Rock Lee

yeah!! beyond evil!!

key

I would like to recommend some K-dramas that are good... Bad and crazy The king Mr. Queen Legend of the blue sea Whats wrong with secretary kim? The nine taled fox it has 2 seasons both are amazing.... I hope this helps to pick future dramas amd everyone can enjoy these are some very good K-dramas💯

Himani Tokhi

I really appreciate these "behind the scenes" explanations that reveal your thoughts and considerations.

chaosdreamer

It's really good you consider everyone's opinion ☺️ That's why I love to watch your reactions....

Himani Tokhi

Yeah, it’s all about striking that balance between recommending shows that YBRL would enjoy (based on their previous reactions), and something that can perform (16 episodes of 60min+ and editing is a lot). Truth is though, a lot of times you have to wait for gems, a lot of mediocre K-dramas are being pushed by the streaming companies nowadays.

Andre

Because generally we want the best option to win. Defining best is complicated though. It typically means the one most people will watch along with us. I already do one romance and one non romance typically.

Rock Lee

That’s fair but will do the good 16 episode ones. So we do 16 or less

Rock Lee

I have to pay the editors. Thats why i take into account the “hype” so i know there is enough return to compensate them. If there isn’t enough views i run deficits and that’s not sustainable for us

Rock Lee

That’s how I feel about Korean music. I’ve been a fan for a longgg time, and I’ve consumed a lot of amazing music. But my recs don’t stand a chance with new fans that aggressively rec new artists. The OGs are forgotten, or they’re never learned about 😔

raeven b.

You’re welcome

Rock Lee

These are blind reactions for me. so it’s mostly database decisions since I don’t even know about the material plot points before watching. I find out if I will love it or not after posting

Rock Lee

Yea if you think of a vin diagram. We are trying to select content with an overlap. Which means it applies to both newer and older kdrama watchers at the same time. Often that scues towards new. Also many “timeless” shows that dont have existing reactions out leave me blind to results. I have to record 16 70 minute episodes without confidence that it will be we’ll recieved. I avoid that by selecting shows i have already seen tested and proven ESPECIALLY On live action content because the time investeded in recording and than editing. Something i finish shows on patreon before releasing on YouTube as well. So i prefer to have more data to work with.

Rock Lee

Faaaaaaacts!!!

LightMyPath Star

For this I blame the “Netflix paradox”. Before other platforms began popularizing kcontent, Netflix made it accessible worldwide. Now we got all this writers and producers as well as tv stations and networks in s Korea trying to put out as much content as possible because Netflix is dropping cash to all who want to partner with them. Hence why we get one good drama and 5 or 6 mid or repetitive ones. That’s why I wait for a while before getting hype over something that has not proven me wrong yet. Understanding the “Netflix paradox” allows you to discern content more carefully and it makes better at recognizing the mid or mediocre from the rest.

LightMyPath Star

I absolutely agree. I kinda thought others had the same in mind when recommending for reactors. I always choose things I think a specific reactor will enjoy. I get second-hand embarrassment from watching a reactor struggle through a show/song/movie etc., so I try to prevent that at all costs lol

raeven b.

Legend of the Blue Sea is a really good drama, hope you guys check it out sometime in the future.

Kheyls Johnson

I would recommend Reply 1988 and Snowdrop as options. They are both 16 episodes, but I think you guys will like them. I also don't think anyone has mentioned Psychopath Diary, this has 16 episodes, and it is comedy and thriller.

Kheyls Johnson

Thank you.

Rock Lee

Thank you. I do sometimes filter down to a poll particular when it no longer matters to me which wins cuz both are good kinda thing

Rock Lee

Oh my God, yes! Beyond Evil had the misfortune of coming out one day before Vincenzo started and all of the international buzz/hype went to that one. I love Vincenzo - it’s forever a fave - but Beyond Evil is SO GOOD and even won awards competing against Vincenzo. It’s easily accessible for international viewers since it’s on Netflix, has a 🔥 murder/mystery plot, the acting is top notch, and yet no big K-Drama reactors ever react to it. I literally just rewatched it a couple of weekends ago because I missed it, and in doing so, I got mad all over again about the lack of reactions.

Tammy S

I do agreed some oldies are classic n worth the watch for sure. The reason we keep an eye for new content it’s because the yt algorithm can affect the creators channel n not keeping up with trends can affect us all. We may not get as much content so I’m grateful they make an effort. Though they always leave room for old classic favorites.

LightMyPath Star

I don't usually comment but I just have to applaud this way of handling things. Show polls seem to bring out the toxic commenters like nothing else. Any time I've looked at recommendation threads, people seem to be generally more positive overall.

Anonymous Name

I’m hoping for that one too. Top tier acting top tier script top tier suspense just awesome. Let’s hope!!!

LightMyPath Star

Faaaaacts I have been saying this for years

LightMyPath Star

Me, just hoping, that SOMEDAY at least one reaction channel will finally watch Beyond Evil: 🥲

rytova ar

Queen of tears is okay so far but it does have boring moments

Elicia Mitchem

I couldn't get past ep 1 with my demon

Elicia Mitchem

People often suggest watching Vagabond, but just a heads up, it didn't really wrap up at all. It was a good drama, but it left things hanging for a second season, which hasn't happened yet since its 2019 release. So, if you're up for the frustration of an unfinished story like I was, then watch Vagabond 😂

Alisha .

All the more reason to react to newer shows while they’re still hot (if there are any, in which case, Queen of Tears, absolutely is right now). I’d assume that’s why he’s starting Shop for Killers, a newer show though I don’t know how well it did for numbers or if it’s even good. Lee noted this with Attorney Woo where if he had started even a month or so earlier it would’ve done much better numbers on YouTube but he was tied to another show (Vincenzo, a classic). There’s no rush with shows that are considered ‘timeless’ and the viewers will always be there because it stands the test of time. If there weren’t any popular shows currently airing, he’d go to the classics. The classic I’m waiting for is Mouse 🐭

Kro

My demon is very boring not recommend i dropped it by episode 8

Name

I agreed that “save me” was a good story. Very daring and progressive as well. However let’s take in consideration all that’s explore in that drama. The airing on that alone requires lots of triggered warning and content warning and you can forget the yt side of it too, due to the topics and dialogue. Though I’m all for content with some type of engaging discussion I am also aware how dramas like that one can be very VERY polarizing for some viewers which I don’t think it’s what the creators here are going for. And I mean polarizing in ways of either losing views or viewers and triggering traumas or touching on subjects best discussed elsewhere like religion, SA etc. To summarize engaging content it’s great ,discussion ,disagreement in how we see characters etc also great. Polarizing an entire community not so wise. So I say consider this either with a grain of salt. 🧂 or with lots of caution if ever chosen as a possible show on the channel.

LightMyPath Star

Exactly. People usually only suggest recent dramas. Even 2021 hit kdramas like Navillera are barely mentioned

Intania Aisha

I agree about king the land, I dropped it after 5-6 eps too but I wouldn't put my demon in king the land category

Phil Coutinho

Kdramas have been popular a long time but they have really risen in international viewing in the last 3 or 4 years. So, alot of times people who are newer to the dramas pick more recent things or what everyone is discussing from the latest releases. However, it sometimes means some of the best dramas don't get recommended as much because long time viewers have already watched them (and wish reaction channels would react to them) and newer ones haven't tried them yet. I have been watching kdramas for awhile now and I still have older ones I still have on my to watch list yet. Currently I'm watching Tunnel because I always wanted to see it but it wasn't available anywhere I could find until I found it on Roku Channel. It can be frustrating sometimes that so many push for newer ones to be reacted too because those classic kdramas stand the test of time for a reason when so many of the newer ones don't always hold up after their initial release.

Lilanea

100% this

Infinite Ree

I agreed with the mid comment about My Demon though I must say the visuals of the two leads might be the most popular once I look past that I tried and I mean I tried been objective but after watching 4 episodes I’m like “ahhhh so this is just a romance” I mean they try to make it interesting but it’s just not at all. Nothing wrong with it I’m just not in the mood for more of the same. That’s my 2 cents on that drama. Apparently I’m not alone in my thinking.

LightMyPath Star

This is why I like you and everyone you react with. Good people! Thanks for doing what you can for your subscribers and what not! Have a great week man!!

Chrollo

I like when reactors pick out dramas they think they`d enjoy. For example,I think you`d really like Save Me or Our Blues, despite the fact they probably won`t enjoy a heck of a ton of views(but then again those dramas are beloved). Like someone said maybe looking at the polls and discussions and picking one drama based on each might be the best way. The best KDramas often aren`t even that hyped to begin with.

Maritza

Most K-dramas with 16 eps suffered from pacing issues with most of them ran out of story to tell by Ep.10. So in my opinion, you should try K-dramas with 12 episodes or less.

AceTrigger

Yes. It had a lot of potential at first. I enjoyed the first 4-5 episodes but when they got together, it boring and the story got all over the place.

summer

A great idea. There are so many amazing dramas pre 2023, for me in particular between 2015-2020

samzi85

It's normal because it got a lot of fans and it has only been like 2-3 months since it ended but I meant the casual watchers in general. You will see it in kdrama polls. Just like how King the Land was so hyped during its time but if you ask people after several months or a year, you will see how the general viewers actually felt about it. It's called the recency bias.

summer

I've realized that most recommendations are a product of recency bias. Some ppl need to see that new doesn't necessarily equal good

Infinite Ree

Yeah my demon is kinda mid and you probably won't like it. If you like business proposal you would like what's wrong with secretary Kim. Queen of tears is hot right now and sooo worth it but you can wait for it to finish and for the non romance there's a few but some or actually most are a little bit of romance in it and the rest is all action like big mouth.

MO

Thank you as well Tammy

Rock Lee

queen of tears is good but can get boring at times, I find myself skimming through the eps which can only mean I might actually drop it soon, as I did for My Demon as the beginning was great but it got bland in the middle of it.

seven

I appreciate it Summer. Thank you

Rock Lee

Why not do both. Polls for older dramas and community suggestion for new ongoing dramas.

Intania Aisha

If people have forgotten, why is it being still being recommend?

Phil Coutinho

Removing My Demon is the right call. It started out okay, but then grew stale. I think I dropped it around episode 9(?). The story had promise but the way it was written/executed was wrong. It started to get bland. I think it’s a case of people liking the actors involved, but even Song Kang’s handsomeness couldn’t save it.

Tammy S

My Demon was just hyped because it was recent, just like any other ongoing drama, as well as because of the male lead who is very popular for being handsome. But now that it has ended 2 months ago, most people have forgotten about it already and it says a lot. I figured it wasnt your taste too. Ive been watching you since Business Proposal so I kinda know what you'd enjoy.
