2024-03-26 17:27:10 +0000 UTCQueen of Tears is the hottest kdrama out right now not just in Korea but internationally as well, and for good reasons. The show has been consistently good from the 1st ep up to the recent one (6th ep). It stars two of the best actors from the kdramaland kim soo-hyun (gang tae from it's okay to not be okay) and kim ji-won (i am positive yall haven't done any shows that she's in but i promise she's amazing 🤞). Their chemistry in the show is top-tier, the writing is great, the acting is A1, the cinematography is fantastic, but with all of that aside, the show's biggest draw for me personally is how flawed most of the characters are. And with that, the show will challenge you to microanalyse these characters and understand them on a more nuanced level. Having these kinds of characters, i feel like, would elicit a really good reactions and back and forths from u guys so i hope u heavily consider this show. It is worth it istg.

Every characters matters and they join to fight the corruption of a small town. Instead of a mafioso in Vincenzo, we have a priest who is hella funny, and has anger issues too ahaha! While You Were Sleeping - honestly one of my all time favorites that took me completely by surprise. Has a great premise and engaging storyline from beginning to end. The pilot could be a movie itself. Memorable characters, cast, soundtrack. Castaway Diva - very powerful story with strong female lead (Extraordinary Attorney Woo herself) and meaningful family drama. For anyone who loves music & stories about survival / trauma healing Both of these tend to make me immediately join & support the channels who cover it. Did that last month 😆

Those are the only two I've seen. WWWSK has my boo Park Min-Young being pretty as ever and doing the romcom thing. There is a little drama in it. It's a nice, light watch. Hotel is great. Gothic vibe. Def has the strong/bossy/well dressed female lead. Paranormal vibes. Hard to place it in a genre. QoT is on my list but I am greedy and prefer the ability to binge all eps at once, so I am waiting until it's done. Happiness is actually on my list because I've heard it's good, but it's fighting my overwhelming disdain for zombie lore. Sorry. I'll def get to it though, but zombies are one of my least favorite horror genres.

It's an oldie, but I have to say I find this time period in dramas to be a bit more raw and less polished (which I love) than newer dramas and for it's time, it handled certain elements realistically. Lots of funny moments so it's hard to place it in a genre. Gong Yoo from Goblin is the lead and definitely does well as the playboy. It's one of my favorites.

As usual, there are some dramatic elements. I am a fan of both leads and they do a pretty good job. Our Beloved Summer - Coming of age story about 2 people who were "stars" in a reality show/documentary when they were teenagers and unexpectedly fall back into the limelight again after it goes viral on youtube years later. I don't remember any over the top tropes. It's pretty well done and the actors are great.

It stares Kim Hye-soo (an actress I really like). It also has Yeom Hye-ran (The Glory, The Uncanny Counter, Goblin) as a character and also Lee Jung-eun (Parasite, Strangers From Hell) andLee Yeon (Weak Hero Class 1). The synopsis from Google states, "A tough judge balances her aversion to minor offenders with firm beliefs on justice and punishment as she tackles complex cases inside a juvenile court." I heard some of the cases are also based on real cases that have occurred. I'm not sure how well it would do on YouTube because I tried to do some research and some reactions go from 1k views to 48k views. I would love to see your guy's reaction to it as it goes over legal stuff, I want to hear about different opinions and debates and how the laws differ for minors vs adults between different countries. I personally enjoyed it! :)
