We didn't see much of him, but it is implied heavily that Lernen is a combat specialist. Unlike Fern who is just naturally gifted and taught by one of the best, Lernen had less talent but still managed to at a glance see that Frieren was suppressing her mana as well as break her barriers. I doubt he'd win, but Frieren surely wouldn't take critical damage in the battle.

It would be embarrassing because of how they acted the last time they met. It was what Himmel meant when we said it to Frieren. Teaching her something for later on when he was no longer there with her. But also with what you said also adds to what it could mean to us. I'm digging it.

2024-03-24 15:04:12 +0000 UTCIt would be embarrassing when we met again because Frieren is on a journey to meet up with Himmel to see him again :) It can definitely also be used for 4th wall breaking but its also just good placement for this being the final chapter of the season so the title lines up perfectly with leaving season 1 off on a good note.

2024-03-24 01:29:29 +0000 UTCLess that Ubel’s “that bad,” more she’s “that dangerous.” On 1 hand, she would have taken the shot in exam one if Fern hadn’t stopped her, on other hand, a wandering mage that actively tries to copy other mage’s signature spells and ‘seems’ to lack morals, is likely a problem. . Aside from fulfilling his decision to defeat the DK as a fake, Himmel’s very much a “focus on now” kind of guy. While it has gone badly at least once (with the adopted demon and the village chief), worrying about what happens every minute you don’t achieve your goal is only going to hurt. So, he did what he could for whom he could, while he could. Like a more confident Stark, tbh. . Also, Lernen made the attempt based on Serie’s statement (that he could probably beat her, which, given he put a scratch on her in 4 shots when her clone needed 1.3 episodes to do similar to Frieren, seems valid). . Fern and Frieren’s view of “legendary” is very much “extreme convenience.” And that’s the primary reason Frieren and Serie beef, she’s basically the world’s strongest magic hippie when there are still heads to crack. . The ‘era of humans’ is, in its own way, the exact reason for Serie’s ‘disappointed’ mentality. While she phrased it as something to fear in the flashback, she’s waiting at the top for a human to exceed her. She wants so badly to be proud of her students, but made the base requirement for it “get better than me,” and can’t really get that expectation adjusted or corrected by someone /not/ as good as her (so I’d bet Frieren tried, and got timed out for it).
