I'm really excited about the plot to this show...(BTW Monarch is HIGHLY recommended)
Its not competing with an anime slot...so don't need to suggest an anime.

Shogun's intro alone is one of the best I've seen to date. It's just so serene and beautiful. This show was exquisitely put together. There are a lot of veteran Asian actors so the expectations were always high. Everything is on point so far from the acting, setting, costumes, writing, drone shots, etc. With this being said, just be prepared for a slow-paced series as it relates to action sequences which are minimal at best. This is more of a drama-filled historical series with minimal action so far. The writing, intense acting, drama, and plot sequence will keep you engaged. I just want to make you guys aware of this. You know the Director's cute little cat-eye sleepy nod-offs are legendary. LOL

Shifting factions and alliances, and high stakes and consequences for all involved. I know you will love the show. I would greatly appreciate you covering SHOGUN. I know your schedule is tight, but two episodes in it has me HOOKED.

From what I gather, they have enjoyed Reacher, so suffice to say, it’s likely they’ll enjoy Warrior. I personally didn’t find it to be tropey myself, but then again, I’m not one to care much about tropes; if it’s executed well. And for what it is, Warrior executes itself well. Not everything needs to be new or creative; some off the wall, out of left field, never seen before type ish. Sometimes, sometimes, people can enjoy a good, mindless action flick. Sometimes, sometimes….people even prefer it. But that’s not to say Warrior is mindless action; it’s action driven, sure. But not mindless.

2024-03-22 19:35:42 +0000 UTCjust because a show displays sexism and a white lead doesnt make it fall under those categories. its the 1600s, sexism was rampant. doesnt mean the show supports it in any way. john being white is not even a factor. theres white enemies like the catholic church. just cuz hes the main character who happens to be white shouldnt be a problem. if he were black would you consider that as a "black savior complex"? ppl so willing to call out racism seem to be the ones that bring race up the most.

The build up is crazy fast there are peak and valleys to the show tho. Not gonna lie I’m dumb as f—-k so I did have to search up certain things about Japanese politics.
