The reason they didn't add these in is because the first season was supposed to be a one-off, but the fans loved the manga so much and the anime that they basically made a partition made a big uproar. And that's when they decided they were going to make missing pieces.

I’m super happy to have some of those scenes now animated beautifully but I still believe the way to get the best horimiya experience and see the story in the order it was created in is through the manga. Can’t wait to see y’all’s next reaction!
