2024-02-23 14:19:19 +0000 UTCIt is possible for sure and I get the intention (I started out watching it in English too), but can confirm it was animated for the Japanese language as opposed to the English one. I’d imagine it’s tough to do mid reaction but if you watch their mouths during the dialogue you’ll notice that they don’t match up with the timing of the English version, but do for the Japanese version.

2024-02-22 10:05:41 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of VA's in just the first 2 episodes that's done alot of anime( you hear every other one and like I've heard them before). Nanami's "interrogation" was intense. I actually don't think there is a better VA for this MC in the world.

2024-02-22 04:52:46 +0000 UTCThat’s not exactly as iron clad of logic as you might think. The first 4 DMC games only had English voice acting despite being made in japan fully. FF16 also just came out last year and English was the intended language for it. I haven’t done any research but it’s completely possible it was made with English as the intended language

Maybe there's multiple english subtitles options to choose from cause they seem pretty useless/jarring right now. Obviously don't change if you're comfortable with this.
