Kdrama Romance Fatigue

Hey guys, just letting you know since i saw the question asked.  I DO NOT have a Kdrama Romance Fatigue.

I just find the shows like Death Game, Revenant, Blood Hound, Worst Of Evil, tend to be shorter in length to record as they don't rely on the Camera's showing everyones faces smiling and staring at each other lol.

These Thrillers are more bingeable for me because they tap into adrenaline, and curiousity, and I don't feel moments of down time because I'm on edge most of the reaction.

The Romance shows are just difficult to binge like thrillers because it does not have those moments.  So i think the mix just keeps things fresh.

I do prefer Thrillers and Suspense but I also appreciate the cinematic experience and how memorable characters are in the Romance genre BACK TO THOSE frames of them staring at each other lol.

The Characters from the Romance shows all stick with me longer than the characters in the Thrillers because they make you feel good.

So it's just a different experience so i like to do both.

I found It's Okay Not To Be Okay and Business Proposal, and Crash Landing On You PERFECT romance shows, they have an elment that puts you on edge and I don't know what it is about it....Goblin and Strong Woman Bong Soon are extremely popular but i do not recall feeling on edge much.

Getting frustrated, having a character to push you emotionally, toxicity..i like those elements in the romance shows....
People don't like when i call characters Toxic like in Extracurricluar of Horimiya...but the reality is...the more toxic i find characters lol...the more i enjoy the show...

so thats my 2 cents..posing reactions soon...I had some issues with Crash Landing on You and didn't update anyone...cuz i just wasn't able to get around to it.

So to be clear...  I LOVE Okay Not To Be Okay and Business Proposal, and Crash Landing On You

I like the memories of Goblin and basically because of Grim Repear lol..its memorable so i think of it from time to time.

I thought Strong Woman Bong Soon was funny but i wouldn't think of it like i do the others.  But i do like the actors and seeing them again in other shows.

Hello, I found this post after your recent post about Lovely Runner. I had a couple questions I wanted to ask related to dramas, but first I wanted to make sure this post is not a bad place to ask questions or make recommendations? If it is, I can message you directly or go on a post you’d rather have this discussion on.

Luca L.

Yo I meant longer lmao since most series are between 12 and 16. Thx for catching that 😆

WorldWideLove2000

mouse is 20 eps...not sure how that is 'shorter'

Snax

mouse wouldn't even make my top 50 tbh

Snax

they'd have me resubbing for this show alone.

Snax

While you were sleeping is such a good drama!

kana

YES. Now that you said it, they absolutely need to react to a romance historical drama. We all can tussle in the comments to decide which ones.

JazzJams

Yeah I agree!

Stevie

Here are my suggestions: For shorter thriller series - "Mouse" For a balance of romance and edge of your seat moments - "While You Were Sleeping" For messy controversy dealing with the social hierarchy - "Sky Castle" For a balance of messy, edge of your seat, and a little romance - "The Good Bad Mother" Love your reactions!!

Miekala Jones

While You Were Sleeping to me has the best balance of romance and keeping you at the edge of your seat

WorldWideLove2000

Descendants of the Sun is another good one.

Stevie

I have already recommended these but i think you guys would enjoy ‘Hotel del Luna’ and ‘While you were sleeping’. Although they’re both romances they also have some sort of ‘tension’ involved. It has been a while since i’ve watched them so it might be different watching them now, but i hope you can check them out. Have a nice day!

Stevie

I do understand k drama thriller and suspense shows are amazing i do recommend Big mouth, My demon ( though it's bit romentic but fantasy aspects n thriller is amazing 👍 and geyongsong creature also these are some amazing shows.... Hope you react on them.... BTW I love your reactions 💜👍🏻

Himani Tokhi

Mask Girl - Zero romance, short 6 episodes but each one feels like a movie. It's a fucked up story, with a lot of violence and sex but not gratuitous. It came out last year, there are a few reactions on YT, yaboyroshi did reaction to the series and they loved it.

Somnia

They should do Beyond Evil before Mouse, do the better/big shows first. Mouse wasn't even top 3 or top 5 of the year it came out.

DJ

Bruh then react to Mouse!!!!!!! Lol

Nancchi

You guys should watch Through the Darkness, it’s my favourite drama. It’s not quite what you would except and it’s actully more meaningful. It’s not about love or romance it’s about more real life drama

Becs

Oh i like messy romance and politics in general. So yes. AdorkableNerd doesn’t like politics AT ALL. I do. But she seems to like the politics of Apothecary Diaries which is an Anime. We all like that

Rock Lee

It also involves a girl you guys might have liked in another KDrama ya'll watched (Ya'll brought her up in your Death Game ep 1 reaction)

J Man

Ok thank you

Rock Lee

I think its fine. Generally speaking

Rock Lee

Thank you

Rock Lee

What do you think about action comedy kdrama?

Random Guy

It honestly isn`t too far away from the truth though. Most popular romcom KDramas are full of staring and overused tropes, which don`t make for great binging or engaging reactions though. Like Weightlifting Fairy is fun for what it is,but it`d be a terrible reaction because not much actually happens(been watching dramas for 10+ years)

Maritza

I feel the same way and I`ve been watching KDramas for A WHILE. There are good romance KDramas out there(even romcom KDramas) but those aren`t usually recommended or very well known even in the KDrama community. Most popular romcom KDramas are full of staring and overused tropes. I`d second Twinkling Watermelon and Mr Queen as I think all of you would really enjoy it!

Maritza

If it's also not thrilling, you should give them a chance. Historical dramas usually have court politics and messy romance

Intania Aisha

Feel the same about what exactly?

Rock Lee

Twinkling Watermelon got a good romance plot too.

J Man

I posted about it on YouTube community post. I saw 2 dudes just being happy every time i saw a picture for that. 😅

Rock Lee

Appreciate it

Rock Lee

I keep an open mind. But Bromance isn’t superior to romance from a position of ingorance ha. I enjoy the Korean woman

Rock Lee

I heard its good in the first comment

Rock Lee

I appreciate the explanation haha. Asked to react to shows others don’t normally watch IRL providing the “relief”’you desire. What a dope explanation. Thank you

Rock Lee

Thank you

Rock Lee

You guys should check out Doom at your service. It’s a great romance Kdrama, so I would like to see your reaction to it ✨

Ida Olsson

Twinkling Watermelon? For Bromance and supernatural stuff?

J Man

What about revenge drama with romance thrown in there like "Marry My Husband" it's on prime now and I highly recommend it.

Cita Ca

Thats also a thing in reaction world…we ask you to react to some certain shows because people irl are choosing not to. All of my guys friends just rejects watching romcoms or shows with romantic themes or certain kdramas like this despite them having good plots. And extremely well storyline. Your take is valid but it is exactly like the people i know irl. Thats why i prefer when reactors put a poll, that is the fairest option. However it is your channel i hope you do what is the best option for you.

Daisy

You guys should try "King The Eternal Monarch" it has good mix of romance and being on edge for YBRL and Director too :D. And compared to the name, it's not ancient Goryeo like the name would suggest like so many other shows that has "King" in it.

Thamor

That's the right take, to me. I've watched you all, watch enough content to be able to reach your own conclusions. Ironically, I am more drawn to your rom com reactions for K-drama or slice of life. More of the culture and personality of Korea can be seen and your reactions are authentic, open minded, and respectful without being disingenuous. Noon-chi (눈치), closest we have in English is "read the room", but that's not quite it. It isn't just "common sense, it's a skill you are told from childhood on to develop. To me, it is about learning to read micro-expressions. There are some reactors who have watched K-drama content, and their bias shows on their faces. I won't watch it, because it's not genuine. EOD, don't force it. Watch shows you enjoy, your content is better for it.

Ed Hwang

Oh I wonder if you feel the same about historical dramas. The romance in those are usually different. Depends on how good the drama is too tho. Also have you heard about Mr. Queen?

Intania Aisha

Why don’t you try a romance historical drama. My Dearest or The Red Sleeve Cuff. You can do both, that will be lovely.

Mariam Mensah

yes my husband has made his returnnnn Lee Dong Wook ❤️

Mochi

I'm really loving A Shop for Killers but it's definitely not character driven than I was expecting (which I love!) I'm so-so about Marry My Husband but still enjoy it enough

Infinite Ree

Watch the trailer to get a sense...and another one of your FAVORITE Villainess is in that show too.

ManicMeeks

makes sense...we are on the fence with that Actor because the shows he's in are kinda ok ... but he's great lol..so we feel they cast him to carry the show...lol

Rock Lee

Move over vanilla, more toxic the better. Also higher engagement to runtime ratios. Got it >_<

FSD

Grim reaper is in a new Disney kdrama action all the way. It's called the a shop for killers. It's short 8 episodes and so freaking good! There is another popular romance/revenge called marry my husband. Marry my husband is getting big numbers but I'm on the fence about putting it on YT. Your channel is way bigger than mine. It might get hit while it's still broadcasting.
