He’s not the only author whose race swapped another character. Jk Rowling , George RR Martin,etc Why so much emphasis on 1 character especially since she’s not only character in show that has changed from the written source material ? The reason why I said why does it matter is just because annabeth the character was white in the books . Doesn’t make up her personality or define her as a character. She’s just white . So why not race swap her ? Lastly there have been plenty of times where creators have race swapped a blck person or a person of color for another race. Nina Simone biopic, Marilyn Monroe biopic, they actually tried to have Julia Robert’s play Harriet Tubman one time (no joke) , etc

The identity of the character was a white girl, he basically already had her in mind so a white girl could have auditioned and probably done a better job but he wanted a black girl, nothing wrong with that just that he basically started talking about wanting a diverse when in fact the second series right after has a diverse cast and his newer books were also diverse. The funny part is he ragged on the movies for not being faithful and he changed it himself when got involved with disney.

I watched the movies first and reading the books felt like a fresh experience because it was so different and the show follows the books . I wont elaborate more .

It has a huge initial fandom and the fandom is growing so you will get good views as the show progresses. The movie was a terrible adaptation so the content will feel fresh , plus Greek lore is amazing .

The author of the books is also involved with writing for the show. Plus the show has biggest premiere viewership on Disney plus and both critics and people who have watched the show are really enjoying it

Dungeon Meshi is one of those names that I hear from time to time that gets chatted up pretty well when it does come up. [For me] it was in a similar space to where Frieren was before it aired. Whenever I'd catch wind of both of these I'd hear [contained] praises but never really gave it a chance until the anime. Meshi's got the good o' setup of a goofy group of adventurers too (with a cooking twist), and it's being adapted by Studio Trigger apparently. So the groundwork seems pretty solid and with a comedic premise that has lots of wiggle room. I don't want to give the impression it's *like* Frieren, since I'm only familiar with a bit of DM's beginning, but my initial impressions were about the same, so I hope to be equally pleasantly surprised! Even if it flies under the radar on air, I hope it might land here eventually.

I've seen the movie and I'm enjoying the series so far but it's pretty much identical to the movie but not quite as good. Just my opinion. 🤷♂️ Haven't seen Snowfall, WoT, or House of Usher.

I know you said you will update post based on feed back so I dunno if you’re still looking for suggestion on live action or just seeing which of the choices so far are the most popular but I just wanted to throw out the Percy Jackson series out on Disney plus rn. Sorry if you’re not looking for suggestions you can ignore the rest of this if that’s the case. If you are still looking for suggestion then yeah Percy Jackson is brand new series with only 3 eps out rn. I’ve been checking other YouTube videos to see about view counts so I could let you know cuz I know this your business so it helps if it’s doing well on YouTube. Videos seem to be averaging about 10-20k. The Percy Jackson fandom never got any good adaptations even though the first book was published back in 2005, so the entire fandom have been craving for a good adaptation and for new people to experience the story. Also not to mention Percy Jackson was my Harry Potter growing up and I believe it’s the same for many others so this story will always be one of my favorites. Hopefully some of the Patreon community will feel the same but if not and you don’t pick it up that’s ok I’ve said what I wanted to say. Also sorry for the long ass post just wanted to sell all sides of Percy Jackson to ya.
