I think it's pretty interesting myself. Probably means he's more of a sociopath than a psychopath since he willingly let go of things that normally would have mattered, like attachments. It looked like even he felt bad for Rose after she passed out and he apologized to her. It shows that those small bits of humanity are still there in him, like when he was angry at Sherry's dad (and gave the same speech about his philosophy incidentally). That moment with Sherry's dad and this moment where Rose saw the truth were "static" for him, something that he actually ended up caring about. Even though he intended to detach.

Sometimes that may be all a little girl needs. Comfort in the fact her daddy loved her and wanted to protect her. A super contrast from the mother who would be willing to kill her husband and be fine killing her own daughter off for some younger dick.
