Bro if you appreciate mc's acting, then I have to ,yet again, recommend Iljimae. I know I sound like a broken record, but it's such a classic legend. Mc's actor Lee joon gi's acting is phenomenal and the fmc Han hyojoo is so damn pretty. Only concern is that Idk if the video quality of it is good or not since it's 2008 show and I can't check amazon prime because of being region locked.

2023-11-01 06:58:28 +0000 UTCI’m actually diagnosed with something similar to antisocial personality disorder (what Hyeonsu was diagnosed with) and I’ll just say there’s a stigma behind cluster b personality disorders in general even within the psychological field to the point where they’re straight up demonised. Lacking in empathy doesn’t make you inherently evil or mean that you like to hurt others or anything nefarious like that. Even small children lack empathy before they mature and learn to discern right from wrong. I struggled more than peers growing up and often felt like I was actually super messed up because it seemed like I was missing something ‘essential’ to being human. I even did the whole practicing facial expressions in the mirror thing lmao so that was wacky to see portrayed in a show haha. Over time, I’ve learnt to accept that as long as I am making a conscious effort to respect the feelings of the people around me, it doesn’t really matter if I can feel what they do or not. So when the show makes a point to say that Hyeonsu has cognitive empathy but doesn’t really get what it FEELS like, that was enough for me. I’d rather think for myself that his diagnosis was in fact right though to be honest, they didn’t even consider all the traumatic events going on with him at the time so who knows. The issue really lies with the incompetency of every single adult around him and the public’s perception of personality disorders in my opinion. Anyway, just wanted to share. Looking forward to finishing the drama with you all :)
